Record of Agarest War Really Naughty Limited Edition

Agarest War Really Naughty Limited Edition

This news is a couple of days old, but in case anybody hadn’t heard, Aksys Games is releasing the strategy RPG Record of Agarest War in the United States in April. This game’s gotten a lot of flak for being softcore porn, but from what I can tell, its suggestiveness is more along the lines of Ar Tonelico or Super Robot Wars OG Saga than Battle Raper. You wouldn’t be able to infer that from Aksys’s pack-ins for the limited edition of the game, though, since they’re throwing in an oppai mousepad and a pillowcase. The latter item unfortunately isn’t a full-sized dakimakura but it’s still looking pretty good.

Anyway, the Really Naughty Limited Edition is awesome but what caught my eye was something in Aksys’s announcement video. It features a white guy acting goofy with the goods and some porno-style music. Towards the end of the trailer, another white guy comes into the scene and you see this:

Pay no mind to the white guy or his funny face and look over to the left. See that? That’s KOS-MOS! The Aksys guy has a KOS-MOS figure! How awesome is that?

Record of Agarest War is scheduled to come out in late April, so Xbox 360 owners should go put in preorders for the Really Naughty Limited Edition right away. Unfortunately, it appears that PS3 owners are going to left in the cold in this respect, so I guess they’ll have to put in their orders whenever the game is available for download on Sony’s network or something. There’s more information about the game over on Ota desho.

One other Aksys note, they’re bringing over the Cave shmup Deathsmiles on the 360. I don’t know much about the game yet but I’m happy to see it make its way over to the US. I still have to spend some quality time with Mushihime-sama Futari, I bought it back in November but I haven’t played it for more than fifteen minutes yet (which is actually longer than I’ve played Dragon Age).

I would be tempted by this just for the mouse pad i think very pretty. Moreover, the complete set is not expensive.
    But i won’t because i have a preference for figures 😀

Video is funny… as there’s no need of much to satisfy mens … LooooL

  2. Good eye. Shame that it’s almost certainly an E2046 or Hobbyfan recast, but I’m not one to judge.

Agarest war has been available in Europe for a while now, but we didn’t get any special bonus like this and it’s PS3 only.
US PS3 owners get this game via PSN download (A massive 10Gig d/l) but they expect it to be cheaper than the 360 version (no disk) and they get any and all DLC free apparently. Not sure which one is the better deal. I’m not one to use Dakimakura and I don’t really like having wrist support on my mousemats, even ones like that!

Since the limited edition costs as much as any other Xbox game, I figure I’ll go ahead and get it. I hope the soundtrack is good.

I’m sure it took Aksys about three seconds to plan that entire video XD

I think I can hear your teeth grind over on this side of the Atlantic whenever E2046 is mentioned XD

I heard that Ghostlight’s translation wasn’t all that great. Having seen their prospective box art, I don’t find that too surprising.

As consumerist as it may sound, I generally prefer to go for limited editions of the games I buy. I also don’t like buying download-only games when there’s a CD version available, particularly on consoles.

I find it somewhat amazing that you noticed not only that there was a figure in the picture but what figure it was. All I saw was a dorky dude in a door and thought wtf?

    Good eye.

  5. @Tier: Hey, I’m not that bad, it’s just a deep, passive sigh if anything ^^’

I tend to go for limited editions as well, if the costs aren’t too dissimilar. Either that or the bonus has to be pretty damn cool, like the bayonetta scarborough fair.
I don’t really factor in the presence or lack of physical media. if I don’t think the bonuses are worth it and the d/l is cheaper, then I’ll get the d/l. So I’m not quite the ltd edition whore. at least not for this stuff!

I’ll be getting the special edition bioshock 2 and God of war collection, that’s for sure!

I couldn’t help it, I watched the video and I was like, “You know, that looks sorta like a Detolf” and then I thought, “Hey, I know whose arm that is!”

I’ve still got to get Bayonetta; I wound up being too lazy to drive to the game store and I just picked up Mass Effect 2, which I can’t play because I haven’t beaten Mass Effect 1 yet. I feel more guilty about this situation each time I watch the Joy video.

I’ve got this compulsiveness about keeping everything. I’ve still got my old papers from high school, I’ve kept my Battletech and Citytech boxes that I bought twenty years ago from a store on the other side of the planet, my computer still has MIDI and MOD files that I downloaded back before Winamp or Winplay3 existed. I’m so paranoid about keeping things that the idea of buying a game or music and potentially losing it through a hard disk crash or console failure would drive me nuts. Whenever I do buy MP3s off of Amazon, I immediately copy the songs to my second hard disk and a USB drive just so I have multiple copies in case disaster strikes.

I think just about every collector in the world has a Detolf from Ikea. LOL

    Good eye catching that KOS-MOS!

I got ME2 as well, but haven’t played it yet.
    1) I want to finish ME1 first
    2) My computer is too old and can’t run it well

    🙂

I have to say. When I watched the video the only thing that really caught my attention was the sound of that guy bouncing on the bed. Dang… mousepad, dakimakura and DVD. I better stop before my head explodes. So, good eye. My profession demands attention to details, but I could not get past the image in my minds eye.

Just about XD As far as cost effectiveness goes, they’re hard to beat.

I’m close to the end of ME1 but I’ve also got this compulsiveness about trying to complete everything before I beat the game, so I’m driving around all the optional planets doing the side missions. I really hate the jeep driving so I stopped playing. Maybe I ought to just load it up again and play straight through to the end so I can start up ME2 already.

    >> Foehamr72
Haha, indeed XD Aksys knows exactly what sort of person is going to be buying this game, I think.

  10. Blowfish says:

Lol my reaction was quite similar to yours but replace Kosmos with Detolf XD

Well I guess we know now why we get such a “japanese” LE for the western market

  11. Tier says:

The funniest thing about this announcement was the Japanese reaction, which Aksys linked on their own company blog. Aksys also translated one of the comments, which apparently read, ““Gaijin’s jacking off is too intense … or is he thrusting the pillow?”
