Dakimakura Review – Yukikaze Mizuki from Taimanin Yukikaze (NSFW)

Yukikaze Mizuki from Taimanin Yukikaze dakimakura

Happy Black Friday to everyone. Being the day after Thanksgiving, the intention for today was to do a figure review of a character from an absolute turkey of a show (free drumstick to anyone who can guess which one I’m talking about), but that plan has been pushed aside by the usual holiday business. We’ll look at her in a few days but in the meantime, here’s some pictures of Lilith’s dakimakura cover of Yukikaze Mizuki, one of the newest characters in the long-running Taimanin series. We’ll also talk a bit about some other hentai stuff coming out soon.

The Taimanin series is arguably Lilith’s flagship franchise. The first game, released in 2005, introduced Asagi Igawa, the series’ main heroine and one of the more recognizable characters from a hardcore ero game. To my knowledge, she’s the only Lilith character to have gotten a figure of her own. It also received a four-episode anime adaptation which was pretty good (a bit of trivia: well-known voice actor Norio Wakamoto had a [rather minor] role in the Asagi OVA series). I didn’t really care for Sakura’s scenes much, due to her grossly deformed bust, but the rest of it was pretty good. It had a great credits song, too.

Yukikaze's hips

Released late last year, Taimanin Yukikaze eschews some of the traditions of the Asagi series – most notably, Asagi isn’t the main character. In addition, the artwork was done by Aoi Nagisa rather than Kagami. I’ve heard that many people weren’t too pleased about that, being that Kagami is a very well-regarded artist. Personally, I like them each about the same but honestly, I don’t care much for Kagami’s ahegao faces, which unfortunately is his signature element. Of all the illustrators who’ve worked on the Asagi series, though, by far my favorite interpretation is Teruaki Murakami’s OVA designs. (That is, besides what happened to Sakura.)

Yukikaze is a student at a ninja training academy, where she learns demon-fighting techniques under Asagi herself. One day, she and her classmate Rinko Akiyama (who also got a dakimakura cover) attempt to infiltrate an evil organization in the hope of locating and rescuing Yukikaze’s mother. To do so, they prostitute themselves as sex slaves (which seems none too smart); however, the catch is that a magical seal is placed on them that will kill them if they disobey their masters (the seal takes the form of a marking on their tongue, which I don’t really like as it resembles a burned-in brand mark). They are steadily degraded and presumably their will to resist is shattered in the end, as is typical in these sorts of games.

Taimanin Yukikaze game box

So, that is a, uhh, curious premise. I have not played through the game but it sounds interesting enough that I’d like to give it a try at some point. (Also, if it ever gets an anime adaptation, I really hope it has a better ending than Makai Kishi Ingrid.)

Full view of Yukikaze's rear side

This pillowcase measures 160 centimeters by 50 centimeters and is made of two-way tricot. Despite coming from a fairly hardcore property – as most of Black Lilith’s games are – it’s actually not that explicit on either side. The front side shows her wearing her taimanin uniform, which is composed of a tight leotard and some gloves and socks with fuzzy trim. The reverse side shows Yukikaze wearing a minimal swimsuit while looking back at the viewer. Her tan lines are on full display on both sides; Aoi Nagisa seems to really like small-breasted, dark-skinned girls with tanlines, as Yukikaze resembles Lily Ramses Futaba from Tentacle and Witches, another Lilith property that he worked on.

Yukikaze's butt

The bottom of Yukikaze’s suit seems to be made out of nothing more than twine.

Yukikaze's legs

Yukikaze has nice legs, though kneepit fans would probably like to see more detail in that area. Also, it kinda looks like her butt is clenched together quite tightly, almost as if it were collapsing in on itself. Aside from that though, her backside does have a nice shape, which is rather rare for a loli-esque sort of character.

Many of Lilith’s games have nice theme songs, and Taimanin Yukikaze isn’t an exception (I really bought the game just for the bonus soundtrack). Yukikaze’s theme song is titled “R.E.D.” and is performed by Maiko.

I like this pillowcase quite a bit, even though I wouldn’t say that Yukikaze is my favorite-looking character in the Taimanin series. I’d get a dakimakura cover of Ingrid in a second if there were one I liked but unfortunately, most of the pillowcases illustrated by Kagami have the characters looking very pregnant on one side, which is really not my thing.

The listing on Lilith’s site for this pillowcase states that it comes with a bonus CD containing a spoken-word erotic voice drama and a “bukkake poster.” I ordered this pillowcase from Amiami and I got the CD but unfortunately, I got no poster. Sort of a shame, that, but it was cheaper to get it from Amiami than to commission a proxy to order it from the Lilith store. I did listen to a bit of the CD and it was sort of relaxing, I guess (I have a very small Japanese vocabulary but I’ve watched enough hentai to have some idea of what the voice actress was saying). On an only slightly related note, DLSite has a lot of very relaxing spoken-word tracks; I really like this one, which is very soothing.

Taimanin Yukikaze dakimakura

We’ll get to see more of Aoi Nagisa’s work – or rather, something inspired by it – in the fourth volume of the Tentacle and Witches OVA, which comes out at the end of this month. Next month, we get to see more tentacle stuff with the anime adaptation of Tinkerbell’s Mouryou no Nie. Curiously, no centipedes appear to be present even though the bio of lead girl Chihiro specifically says she hates them. Also, the long-awaited second volume of Kyuuketsuki is coming out next month as well. Kyuuketsuki was a great OVA, but it looks like the second episode uses a different art style that I am not liking nearly as much. It does seem to keep the same voice actresses, though, which is a good thing because Mikage’s voice actress was absolutely fantastic. Finally, back in my post on Ai Saeki, I listed some cute, fun ero anime shows that I liked, but I forgot to mention Ojou-sama Yomeiri Kousou!, which is a really nice, sweet little OVA with some likeable characters and good scenes. It’s rather short, leaving much of the character development to the imagination, but the characters are appealing enough that that’s not too much of a problem.

This case turned out a lot better than I was hoping for when I saw the sample shots. Yukikaze meets just about every fetish I have when it comes to physical traits: twintails, purple hair, tan lines/tanned skin, small but shapely breasts, and a great ass. My only regret is that it wasn’t very lewd, which given the source material was a true shame. I was even worried that it might have been censored in some way, but in my experience Lilith is one of the better companies when it comes to censoring (I still don’t understand why a company would expose the flesh if they know they’re going to have to slap a mosaic on it – it just ruins an expensive piece of art work.) So needless to say, I was very pleasantly surprised by the finger placement on the backside; it was definitely a missed opportunity given some of Lilith’s other cases, but I ended up liking it a lot.

Yeah, the poster was a webshop exclusive. It’s the trend they’ve followed with all of the cases they’ve released over the last year or so; the Lilith shop orders were the only one that got the preorder bonus, usually a poster. Though I believe I saw their latest batch of covers on Toranoana and I think it included the poster, but it will still incur a proxy fee.

I’d definitely love to be wrong on the Kyuuketsuki voice actress change. 😮 I had just browsed the staff section on the Getchu page and didn’t see the original voice actress listed, so I definitely could have made a mistake rather easily. If that’s the case, my expectations for the show will have brightened quite a bit. 😀

    • Tier says:

I didn’t check to see how big the poster is but thinking about it a bit more, maybe it would’ve been worth the extra proxy fee. That poster is pretty cool looking, and quite a bit more explicit than the pillowcase is, curiously.

I looked at the page on Getchu and it credits Mikage’s voice to a “Ohana Don” for both volumes. I assume that’s the same person, though I don’t know if more than one voice actress has ever used the same pseudonym. Hopefully the show is good; thinking about it a bit more, though, I am not really digging the art style on some of the still shots. The second episode of Brain Jacker was a big letdown, and I’m hoping Kyuuketsuki is better.

      • Shashin says:

Yeah, I really liked the poster and thought about ordering through Lilith, but the higher base price and added proxy fees kept me from doing it. I do have a friend who did order it for the poster though. Unfortunately, it’s pretty small; I think it’s about A4 paper size, though the exact dimensions might be a bit different.

Yeah, you’re right. I made the mistake of looking for the name of her voice actress on a different site, when it would have been much easier just to look it up on Getchu. I don’t know how I feel about the change in art style myself; some of the shots definitely look a bit weird and not necessarily suited to my tastes, but we still don’t have much to go on.

Honestly, I’ll accept the change in art style if the animation is still high level. The main peeve I have with hentai these days is they use so much repeated animation that it really detracts from the quality of a show. There are a lot of shows that have great art/character design, but when they get to the action, I lose interest because the animation is so lazy. I actually watched the best scene from Sexy Magical Girl Ai the other day, and was surprised by just how good the animation was; the art overall may be better today, but the animation has definitely gotten worse.

Anyhow, as long as Mikage is still cute and has a good vocal performance, I’ll be mostly happy. I was looking at the release list for December, and it’s actually shaping up to be a fantastic month. I’m really looking forward to Mouryou No Nie, Kansen 5 2 (liked the first episode a lot), and Onichichi Reborn 2. Rinkan Club has promising box art, and Zettai Junshu Kyousei Kozukuri Kyokashou has potential – as long as it drops the godawful “camera” from Imouto Paradise.

        • Tier says:

Ah well, if the poster is that small, I guess I don’t feel that badly about it. I figure if I want to hang something up on the walls, it ought to be big.

It’s funny, but some of the older shows I’ve seen, like Angel of Darkness, Beat Angel Escalayer, and Angel Blade have had pretty good animation, whereas it’s kinda hard to think of a contemporary ero anime with good animation. (Swing Out Sisters was really good, I guess; I’m really hoping that gets a second volume.)

Besides shoddy animation, one of the things that really bugs me about ero anime is when the female recipient keeps blabbering on and on. Maybe the most annoying thing that characters say is when they scream about how they’re going to get pregnant, even when they’re copulating with a non-human partner.

Yeah, December looks pretty good. It looks like Tropical Kiss is going with a one-girl-per-episode format, which is nice but I wonder how many episodes they’ll be doing, since it seems like very few ero series get more than two volumes. I really hope Rinkan Club doesn’t have any scat scenes. And aww, you don’t like the Murakami-cam? Heh, yeah, the spastic camera is one of the things about his style that I wish he’d tone down. A lot of the scenes in Kuro Ai were really hard to watch (not just because of the spastic camera, but also because there was this weird orange haze over everything).

          • Shashin says:

I agree, which is the main reason I was willing to skip the Yukikaze poster. Though I fell for a similar trap with the Carnelian tapestry sold by Stylus. 🙁 Even though the dimensions were listed, I was expecting it to be much bigger than it was. It was roughly A4 size as well. On a related note, I purchased the newest Udon-ya tapestry this morning on YJA; there had been one listed at about 12k buyout for quite sometime so I wasn’t too worried about it. I checked on a whim last night to see what was available and the one with the 12k buyout on it had a bid. Since the others were priced at 16k+, I decided to buy it.

That’s understandable, though it definitely depends on the quality of the actress, I suppose. Sometimes it’s really annoying when they’re speaking even if it isn’t the typical nonsense, whereas I’m much more willing to overlook it if I like the way the actress sounds. But yeah, generally speaking, they should think of some other things to say.

Speaking of second episodes and scat, I was really disappointed with the way Euphoria turned out. It had so much potential and I actually really liked the way the story was set up. The pacing of the first episode was pretty good and then they just rushed through the second episode, so I wonder if it was a budget issue and they had intended on going through all the girls at a slower pace. With the exception of the scat scene, the second episode wasn’t too bad but I would have loved for the other ladies to get some more attention; the focus of the second episode was my least favorite character of the bunch.

I actually had two problems with Imouto Paradise. The camera was the main one I’d think, but I was really disappointed with how they spent time with the characters. The pink haired girl got the most attention and she was almost always nude during her scenes, whereas the loli twins did get a decent amount of screen time but they were always clothed.

  2. Ashlotte says:

Aoi Nagisa really does love this type of character god bless em!

I can see why you didn’t get the other cover from the pair looks pretty dull especially for something from an Eroge company like Lilith?

Hopefully the next T&W is as good as the screenshots. 2nd one was a bit too vanilla if I remember right and I wasn’t crazy about the third one for some reason…Maybe lack of Lilly.

    • Tier says:

Yeah, the other pillowcase wasn’t nearly as interesting; I like her character design a lot (she looks kinda like she could be Asagi’s second kid sister), but the back side seems like it could’ve been better.

Yeah, the second and third episodes of Tentacle and Witches didn’t seem too great. I didn’t really like the third girl’s character design too much (sort of strange, since I liked how she looked in the game CGs). It was really weird how Lily’s anal scene in the third episode just got cut off right in the middle of the action. I can’t remember the last time I saw a hentai show where they just switched away from a sex scene like that.

  3. Aaron says:

This is an interesting cover, and I love seeing that she is sun-tanned/not-tanned. I have always liked that in anime. With that being said I am not a huge fan of this cover.

First, I would have liked a much more explicit cover. Second, the front seems way too busy, and her toes look broken. And finally her buttcheeks look funny on the backside. I do love the finger placement though.

    • Tier says:

Ha! Yeah, it’s very difficult to get the toes splayed out like that, unless they’re busted up. Looking at the game CGs, though, Yukikaze’s body goes through quite a bit of, uhh, trauma, so maybe she’s used to it. Or maybe she has superb ninja control over her body. The pillowcase definitely should have been more explicit, particularly given that the bonus poster shows pretty much everything.

      • TomTheCat says:

You are going on about this poster and say how explicit it is. So have you seen it although you didn’t get it with this daki? Care to give us a link or something? Thanks 🙂

        • Shashin says:

The poster can be seen here.

        • Tier says:

There is also a link to it in the post; scroll down a bit on the item page and you’ll know it when you see it.

          • TomTheCat says:

Ah, ok, thanks to you guys for the clarification. I must admit I don’t click on every link that is offered to me. Not even here, much less on other sites – shame on me…

          • Tier says:

It is all good; I get snarky when people ask for something that is provided in the post, so don’t mind me XD I have this suspicion that the great majority of people who read (and even comment) on this site don’t really read the text, which makes me wonder if I need not put as much effort into it.

  4. Asa says:

Surprisingly tame, all things considered. I find it hard to find Dakis that aren’t horribly explicit, but this isn’t too bad. Not my kettle of fish (since it isn’t a char I know) but I wish more dakis that weren’t disgustingly explicit were made.

    • Tier says:

They are out there; there’s actually a lot of them out there, but I usually don’t buy any of them. I need to buy more explicit pillowcases; I don’t have anything that can match Nagomi and Sono, and I got that pillowcase years ago.

      • Shashin says:

In all fairness, there isn’t a whole lot that tops Nagomi and Sono in terms of explicitness. I’d say Marks probably comes the closest to IG’s level of explicitness, but their stuff always ends up being super expensive on the secondary market. B&W Store also has some fantastic covers up right now that are definitely worth checking out.

    • Aaron says:

The Compile Heart/Red Entertainment dakis are sexy but not explicit and they look great.

  5. Wieselhead says:

Personally I thing the front is a bit overloaded witch outfit details and colors, a little less is more sometimes. The backside is a bit more simple and I like it more, the girl is pretty ^_^
I like how she looks to the side with her finger in the mouth.

*lol* a 1mm string bikini is a waste of money XD

Mikage has some strange faces in these shots, too bad that they’ve changed the style of it.
I also would rather see the heartless Vampire dude being mean to Mikage, not his sex friend being ultrapervy. At least they continue this OVA “Mikage fighto!” :p

    • Tier says:

Yeah, she’s got a pretty complicated design, and personally, I think the fuzzy stuff and the tanlines could go. I’m not actually a fan of tanlines; when I played Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, I always had to make sure to use the sunblock to prevent tanlines from appearing.

When 1mm is the difference between being clothed and getting arrested for public nudity, then it is worth the money XD

Yeah, I wish they used the old character design from the first episode; Mikage was really pretty. And yeah, sending his lady minion to do his dirty work seems like an odd change, especially since his lady friend obviously does not have a penis. At least, I don’t think she does o_O (but well, this is anime, so if she mysteriously grows one, I’m not going to be shocked). I was hoping, like you, that Mikage would find a happy end. I really thought that would require her to escape, but if she winds up loving her new life, I guess that’s also kind of a happy end. Kind of.

  6. azn0will says:

    I approve!
Everything looks great except the toes on the front side. Overall, I’d still get her if I wasn’t a broke college student. 🙁

However, I am totally against some of the stuff that goes on in the storyline. Mainly orc rape! Why orcs!? I’m okay with tentacles but orc rape just seems wrong to me, meh :\ (I’m referring to the Tainmanin Asagi OAV)

Have you guys seen it? There’s orc rape and NTR, my sworn enemies! I was drawn to it because of the quality of the girls not knowing my sworn enemies would be there! :'(

    • Tier says:

Orcs! Orcs are great; I wish there were more orc shows out there. Princess Knight Janne and some of the Ikusa Otome Valkyrie shows are great in that respect.

I have seen Asagi, or parts of it, anyway (I kinda skipped through it to watch the good parts). It’s one of the shows that makes me lament the demise of the US hentai industry, since I’d really like to see it uncensored. Murakami’s spastic camera style sometimes bugs me but I think it works pretty well in Asagi. As does the orc rape! That stuff was delicious.

      • azn0will says:

        Tentacles > Orcs Tier!!!

Orc faces just bugs the crap out of me…I’m staring at the girl and then bam! Ugly orc face. I’ve seen Ikusa Otome Valkyrie, but I’m not sure about Princess Knight Janne. However, how do them Orcs not bug you?! I mean if they didn’t show their faces I’d be fine with that too.

And I totally agree, US hentai industry sucks, they basically died. They haven’t released anything good in ages. I think the only good release by the US hentai industry was Bible Black(not the dubbing), the rest of it is so-so.

        • Shashin says:

I think we can all agree that tentacles are better than orcs, but I don’t mind orcs myself. I’d definitely agree that time shouldn’t be spent showing their faces, but I like orcs for what they bring to the table. There’s no way I can phrase this without sounding like a misogynistic pig, but when I’m watching hentai I absolutely like the rougher elements that come with it. Vanilla can be fun too, but I’ll almost always take some orcs or tentacles.

          • azn0will says:

What about the ones where they(Orcs/Monsters) end up killing, or dismembering the girl? (Shoujo Senki Brain Jacker)
I really hate those. I mean she looks great, but the freaking idea of her getting killed at the end is WTF!!!!!

          • Tier says:

I really do not like guro, and I loathe stuff where cute girls die, particularly violently. That said, I’ve seen a lot of objections to Brain Jacker part 2 because viewers assume that Rin got torn up behind that closed door, but I’m not so sure that she did. For one, she obviously speaks right at the end of the show, and also, I assumed that the whole episode was a prequel to show what happened to her at the hands/hooves of Pegasus, being that she kills him in the first episode. (Also, she goes through some rough exercises in both episodes and if none of that mistreatment gave her so much as a stomach ache, I’m sure power tools don’t hurt her more than a bug bite.)

        • Tier says:

I actually like orc rape around as much as I like tentacles, I think, and for much the same reasons. I think the juxtaposition of a beautiful young woman being accosted, molested, or even courted by something incredibly ugly or even nonhuman is really appealing, and the funny thing is, this sort of theme seems to be a popular one across many cultures. There are a ton of examples out of Greek myth, like the bondage of Andromeda or the story of Zeus and Leda, the very famous story of Beauty and the Beast, and of course, the The Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife. It shows up in anime culture a lot as well – in Sengoku Rance with Hakkin Dasan and that one blue-haired girl whose name I can somehow not remember now and in Fate/zero with little Sakura and all her little playmates in the basement. It’s all great stuff.

          • azn0will says:

Hmm, I might of just missed that connection where ep 2 takes place before ep 1. I thought that horse thing was another one.

You actually sparked my curiosity as you mentioned that themes such as the one we were discussing is popular among many cultures; does that include the US, I mean I haven’t seen much, if any. Maybe that’s why I’m so against orcs/monsters touching my ladies?

          • Tier says:

That’s my assumption, though I’m not sure it’s correct. I think it makes sense, though, since there’s the second episode opens up with Brain Jacker blasting the orcs while looking very emotional. I took that to mean that she survived whatever happened later in the episode, escaped, and came back to get revenge on the orcs who messed her up so bad.

I guess American culture is a mishmash of other cultures, but there are certainly instances of beautiful females getting paired up (forcibly or not) with ugly things. Beauty and the Beast is probably the most obvious one (Wikipedia says it is originally a French story, but most Americans will be familiar with it through the Disney story or the television series [trivia note: George R.R. Martin was a producer on that show. Man, I remember one of my college roommates told me about his books; even though I enjoy fantasy, I’d never heard of him at that time. And now just today, I glanced over at a sales flyer that came in the newspaper and it said “WINTER IS COMING” across the top. You know you’ve hit the big time when home appliance stores are quoting you in their ads.). One that probably most people don’t know is Galaxy of Terror, which had a scene where a giant maggot rapes a woman to death (which makes me sad; I think the maggot ought to have cherished and loved the woman instead … another trivia note, director James Cameron worked on that movie). It seems to be a common trope amongst horror movies, like the remake of The Hills Have Eyes and its sequel.

    >> Shashin
That tapestry sounds like a good buy. That reminds me that Comiket is coming back around next month and I need to see what my favorite circles are up to.

Yeah, I wish Euphoria had gotten at least a couple more episodes. I’ve seen the CGs but from what I know of the plot, it sounds like the anime hardly scratched its surface. I really could’ve done without the scat scene but the electrocution scene was awesome. I really wish they hadn’t ended the show the way they did since it pretty much precludes the possibility of any additional episodes. I’m not sure if the issue was budget so much as that it just seems like two episodes is the standard format these days; they seem to make a lot of shows from Clockup’s titles but they all only get two episodes each.

    • Shashin says:

Yeah, I’m looking forward to it. I’ve been fairly good the last few weeks in cutting down spending, but there’s a lot of stuff I’d like to buy. The C83 goods are finally starting to roll out and it will be interesting to see what my favorite circles do. I’m really looking forward to the Clesta case, and this Alicesoft tapestry looks great. I also really like a blanket Toranoana has for sale, featuring the variations of Saber.

Yeah, it’s really a shame that it ended after two episodes. I actually haven’t gone through all of the CG myself, but based on the way the story was set up I can imagine a lot of scenes: in the game, I would guess you would have set scenes in between the rooms, but you could choose the girl you wanted to use to unlock the door. That could easily lead to 25+ main scenes, given the way it was set up (5 girls/rooms, I think.) And I do remember some scenes that had more than one girl. So it really is a shame they decided to rush through it with the one girl and have her endure 4 rooms of torture. I would have been happy with that if they did the same rushed set up for every girl (and just had the different routes similar to Yosuga no Sora) or given each girl some screen time over 2-3 episodes.

      • Aaron says:

That Clesta case looks great. I definitely need to see a finished version.

      • Tier says:

I also heard that the characters were not quite as they seemed, which made some of their characterization in the anime even more curious. That said, characterization and plot integrity seem to be low priorities even for regular anime, so it is not surprising that an ero show skipped those things. I wish they hadn’t skipped out on some of the ero possibilities afforded by the additional cast, but I’m guessing they wanted to just bang out these two episodes and move on.

I haven’t checked up on my favorite circles’ websites, though I’ve noticed the Umoreru Dakimakura site seems to not be updated as frequently as it used to be. I refrained from any huge purchases on Black Friday (not really be financial prudence; there were a few things I really wanted but I waffled for a few hours and when I came back to buy them, they were already sold out) so I’ll be looking to spend some money next month.

I was gonna ask who that is on the pillowcase, then I noticed the tape on her leg and I realized that it is Asuka, of course. Definitely looks extremely nice. Does Clesta ever sell his/her stuff through mail order, or is it mostly convention-only and secondary market?

        • Shashin says:

Yeah, the main blog I used seems to update fairly infrequently these days and I’ve mostly switched to using this site. I also would like to correct a mistake I made in my last post; I had incorrectly linked the Saber blanket but didn’t want to post again with nothing but the link to correct my mistake. So here it is again and hopefully I’ll get it right this time.

I was much the same on Black Friday. I was looking into buying some more storage (both a traditional HD and another SSD), a new monitor, and some games… but I waffled on everything. In hindsight, I really should have jumped on the 3TB drive for $90 and there were some fantastic monitor deals too. I just didn’t want to spend the money because I know I have AmiAmi and SMJ orders to pay off.

Asuka was my guess, but I wasn’t entirely sure. I’ll be interested to see how it turns out in the end, but I expect it to be fantastic. As far as I know, Clesta has only sold two dakimakura covers (and a smaller cushion cover); the Raika dakimakura and the smaller cushion cover were both event exclusives but the very first cover they did was available on Toranoana. Hopefully they’ll decide to sell it through a consignment store, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it were a C83 exclusive.

I should’ve said Umoreru Dakimakura in my comment above; Dakimakura Honpo is, of course, a retailer.

That Saber blanket is definitely very nice. I like how the artist omitted Saber Alter’s ahoge; that seems to be something a lot of artists miss. I wish Saber Extra showed up, though, especially if she were wearing her bride suit. That’s the best Saber suit of all time.

I actually got a bigger hard drive and an SSD just a couple of weeks ago, but I’ve been too lazy to put them into the computer. I was thinking of getting a whole new computer since this one is three years old and hasn’t ever really worked properly, but I’m kinda cheap and building a machine takes me some time. I’m also thinking of getting a new laptop – ostensibly because I would like to do some traveling next year and I’d like to bring along a lightweight laptop, but I know the real reason is so that I can two-box more effectively in Warcraft.

I think that’s definitely Asuka; I recognize her spiffy new hat. Hopefully it appears at the usual secondary places if it is indeed a convention-exclusive; I really do like his art. I mean, aside from the trap stuff, I guess.

I knew what you meant, so no worries. I’m just lazy and usually end up calling it the “blog” when speaking with fellow collectors or the “dakimakura blog” when talking with others who aren’t as familiar with the hobby.

It appears as if I just missed out on the preorder deadline for the blanket (closed yesterday.) I was waffling on ordering that with a few other things (a Miku cover, a Dakimakura Honpo cover, and a Hisasi cover.) I’ll be honest, I only really know the base Saber. I could probably identify which one is Saber Lily because I owned her Alter figure for some time, but that’s about it.

I actually built my first computer about a year ago and it’s still running strong. I’d just like to add some more storage to it, because 1.5 TB of storage isn’t enough for all the porn I have on it. Even though I won’t ever touch half of the eroge I’ve downloaded, I’d much rather add some more storage space versus deleting something… just in case. That’s an understandable reason for wanting a better setup. Dual-boxing was some of the most fun I had in WoW, even if I my setup was very basic.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure it is too. Mandarake will likely be the best bet, though you know YJA is going to be flooded with goods shortly after the event starts. It will just be a matter of luck I guess. You never know how covers are going to handle on the secondary market; I’ve seen some that were very expensive at the start but can be acquired relatively cheaply now (I still partially regret buying the first Anko Kimi to pop up on YJA for 23k), whereas others will be cheap at the start and then jump in price as fewer become available. It’s a crapshoot that I haven’t been able to get a handle on yet. The biggest surprise for me was probably the Fatalpulse cover (which I ended up buying the first one on YJA for 20k) that sold on Toranoana because he had plenty of stock leftover. I even managed to pick up a “damaged” second copy on Mandarake a few weeks ago for 6k.

Hey. I was wondering what kind of methods do you use when you wash dakimakuras?

    • Tier says:

Uhh, I can’t actually say because I’ve never washed any of my pillowcases. I don’t actually handle them; I have one pillow body which sits on my bed when I’m awake and gets moved off to a chair when I sleep, and the rest of my dakimakura covers are wrapped up in their original bags or Ziploc bags and stored in drawers and boxes. I would imagine that you could hand-wash it in the sink or a bucket with a regular, non-bleach detergent and cold water and it’d be okay. (Heck, I’m sure you could toss it in the washing machine and it’d be fine; it’s basically just spandex or polyester fabric. I’m gonna hand-wash mine if they need cleaning, though, because I’m neurotic.)

  9. Kuroryu says:

Hi, this is slightly out of topic, but I’m looking for any information on the game this pillow cover is inspired by-namely the ending where Yuki’s mother appears-. Do you know anything about it? If so, I’d greatly appreciate it if you shared any information.

Unfortunately I do not; you might try asking over at the Hongfire forums, I know there are a ton of Pixy fans there and I’m sure several of them have played through the game. (You might even look around 4chan’s /jp forum and see if there’s an eroge thread there; I’m pretty sure there is.)
