Vivio from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Dakimakura Review

Though Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha has finished its television run – at least until they decide to animate ViVid and Force – its popularity continues to flourish thanks to a huge spectrum of goods featuring its characters. The list of official goods is impressive, comprising cups, notebooks, cell phone straps, video games with its own impressive selection of goods packed in, and so on … and of course, where licensed makers choose not to provide, doujin circles are there to step in. This is particularly true with pillowcases, and while the Nanoha series has some competition from Madoka for the throne of the magical girl genre, the new contender cannot contest Nanoha’s popularity when it comes to dakimakura covers.

This dakimakura cover is distributed by Hold On Pillow, one of the more prolific makers of pillowcases in this niche collecting hobby. I’ve got a couple more of their pillowcases, including Nakaba ReiMei’s Hinata and Cyclone’s Nanoha. They distribute pillowcases featuring art from a wide variety of artists, including some well-known doujinshi and professional illustrators like Jun Tsukasa and Inkey. This particular pillowcase is illustrated by Tetsuya Yatsushima. His doujin circle is named Briest and he’s done a number of Nanoha-themed books – though curiously, I don’t think I’ve ever seen them for sale on Mandarake or Toranoana. He seems to sell mostly at conventions or through Melonbooks, whom I’ve never purchased anything from.

Vivio is the subject of this pillowcase, and she’s obviously in her adult form here. Vivio’s got a little something for everyone – mismatched eyes, a mutable personality, and of course, both a sexy adult form and a petite child form for the loli-lovers out there. I like her grown-up form quite a bit more, and Alter’s Sankt Kaiser figure is one of my favorites. I must be in the minority there because that figure seems to have sold rather poorly, given how it’s languished in the bargain bin of just about every Japanese hobby retailer.

The illustration shows Vivio with an embarrassed look and a rather shy smile, with her clothing in a state of disarray. I usually see Vivio looking all angry and evil when she’s wearing her bodysuit, as in this illustration from a Cyclone doujinshi. Her bashful look is a nice change from what you usually see.

A close-up of the main part that everyone cares about.

Like most doujin-produced dakimakura covers, this pillowcase measures 160 centimeters long by 50 centimeters wide, which is a bit longer than some officially licensed cases. I’ve noticed Hobby Search and Amiami are carrying more dakimakura covers of original characters from individual artists; a few years ago, it seems like the only dakimakura covers they sold were from Cospa or Matching World.

Vivio from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Dakimakura Review

I really like this pillowcase – I prefer adult Vivio, I have this thing for anime girls in tight suits (which partially explains my fondness for Kyokai Senjou no Horizon, even though that show’s plot makes no sense), and the artwork is very appealing. I’ve preordered the artist’s upcoming dakimakura cover of Nanoha, though curiously, that will mean I’ll have two Nanoha pillowcases and zero Fate ones. I kinda wish I’d ordered his Fate pillowcase, since I think it’s the best one I’ve seen so far. I missed out on it so I’m still searching for the right Fate dakimakura cover.

Yeah, I noticed that of AmiAmi and Hobby Search too, and it’s certainly a trend I love seeing. Especially AmiAmi and their willingness to sell a few Comiket exclusive items (well previously) from time to time. I hope the trend continues and we see them start to pick up even more to sell.

I really like this cover, and will probably pick it up the next time I see it on Mandarake. They’ve had some good deals recently; they had a (Dark Stalkers) Morrigan cover listed for 4000, which I just couldn’t resist. Though I am a bit miffed with Mandarake otherwise. For the Saturday update, they listed 22 Yasuomi-Craft covers at a reasonably 18000 price tag (considering they were all 2WT), but they update didn’t make it to the English side of things. I put in an special order with SMJ on a bondage Rin cover, but it sold out about 10 minutes after I put in the order…was holding a grain of hope that SMJ purchased it and was just late in getting back to me, but it wasn’t to be.

I know that at least some of the covers will make it to YJA, so I’m going to keep an eye out there, but they’ll likely be listed for absolutely ridiculous prices… still, I’d like to pick up either one of the Saber or Rin covers. >_>

    • Tier says:

I’m hoping for the same; I was happy I didn’t have to shell out extra for the Qwaser pillowcase, or the one of Chizuru from Renai Saimin. That reminds me that I ought to take pictures of the Tsugumi pillowcase one of these days.

I forget, did you ever have any luck e-mailing Mandarake and asking them to put items only on their Japanese store on the English site? I remember you mentioned this before, and there’s a couple things I’d like on their Japanese site that aren’t listed on the international one.

That sucks about the Rin dakimakura cover; it must’ve been in pretty high demand to sell out that quickly. Or it was just bad luck, I guess. I had my own minor bad luck with this one Muv-Luv book I wanted to buy, but I waffled for a week while looking for other stuff I wanted to buy and it sold out at Hobby Search a couple days ago. Of course, just yesterday I find a different book I want to buy at HS, so I just ordered it by itself.

  2. Shashin says:

Yeah, I don’t even want to think about how much I’ve paid in proxy fees over the last year or two.

I did, though I’m not sure how to interpret their response. I emailed them about three dakimakura covers, listed by two different stores, and they were posted on the English website within 10-20 minutes of Mandarake’s reply email. They basically said that some items are meant for Japan only, and certain circles don’t want their goods overseas. I replied back, basically saying that it seems to be certain stores who won’t post on the English site (Grand Chaos and Utsunomiya), and that I’ve seen many cases where the exact item was posted on the English site for one store, but not by the other. That never earned me a reply, but I didn’t expect one. Anyhow, I’m not sure if they’d be willing to do it again for me if I asked, but they did it for me the one time at least.

Well, it would figure that this one the morning I decided to go to bed before the update (I crashed around 7 versus waiting for the 8am update.) I woke up around 12, and they still had a few in stock, but I’d say the majority of the 22 covers were sold out. The bondage suit Rin just happened to be one of them (they had 3 Rin, 3 Saber, 3 of other chicks, and so on), so I immediately put in an order with SMJ. There’s no guarantee that SMJ would have gotten a special order in had I placed it at 8am, but I still can’t help but kick myself in the head.

If you’re unfamiliar with the work, here’s a few samples: http://g.e-hentai.org/g/84560/a6b8e4a02e/?p=2

I was after the Rin in the black latex gear, though if I had more options available to me I definitely would have taken a plain Saber too (and a Sakura, but she wasn’t listed at all.) I’ve seen the work from the circle appear on YJA a few times. They had the Ilya cover for 25000ish (but SK), and there are two for 20000 and one for 29000 on YJA right now, but all three are SK as well. This is the first time I’ve seen 2WT covers from the circle, so I wanted one even more (I had contemplated purchasing the Ilya, but my disdain for SK kept me from it.)

    • Tier says:

Well, that’s unfortunate, one of the items I was interested in is sold by the Grand Chaos store. Though it’s not of an explicit nature so maybe I should ask anyway.

Ah, I remember seeing the artwork for those pillowcases on Danbooru but I didn’t know they used to make dakimakura covers. I wonder what it says about me that the scat picture didn’t even trigger nausea. Though I’m not gonna click on the full-size version of that. I like those illustrations, hopefully you’ll be able to track it down.

I finally got my Charlotte pillowcase after a most peculiar order mix-up. Evening Call’s got some really nice stuff in the pipeline. I’m looking forward to their Inori pillowcase and I really like the Horizon one, too. I wonder if they’ll do one of suit Saber.

      • Shashin says:

The items I requested were all dakimakura covers, and they put them up without too much hassle. I know Utsunomiya was one of the stores I requested two covers from (both from Blueberry), and the third was either Grandchaos or Akihabara. I don’t think it would hurt to ask, and they’d probably do it one time at the very least… just not sure if they’d do it again for me if I asked.

Yeah, I tried finding more information about the circle, but I can’t really find much; their website is fairly barren and the blog I found is talking mostly about random stuff. But I think the title of their works can hint at it a bit; I took away that they just tossed in some extra CG (as omake) to go with the covers. Like their Code Geass pack has CG of a bunch of different characters, but they have a Kallen folder that is nothing but her in a bunch of different dakimakura style poses.

I haven’t been able to find anything about where they actually sell their dakimakura covers, though. The dakimakura blog doesn’t have a single cover listed from them, at least when I look by circle name and such. Short of the Mandarake sale, and the occasional YJA listing, I haven’t seen much from them.

Speaking of omake though, I just have to give a slight nod to Boncool. When they had some of the BWstore covers available, I decided I wanted the Mami (from Madoka.) I ordered Boncool’s Homura (also from Madoka) as well, to go with her. Picked up my package a few weeks ago, and there were two copies of Homura in it, with one labeled “omake”. And they also recently had a 40% off sale for their covers, if you bought one of their consigned covers. Thought it was a pretty cool thing to do, especially since they are already willing to ship internationally.

Good to hear. I’m definitely cursing Evening Call at the moment.. my wallet just can’t handle all the good things they have coming. I’m expecting Dizzy, Alice, and the Valkyrie later this month, and Yokatta has Asuka and Kan’u ready to ship (was just trying to hold out for IG, too.) I’m fairly certain I’ll buy their Sena and I really like the green haired chick by the same artist as well. Actually, there hasn’t been a cover from Niro that I didn’t like: http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=194231

        • Shashin says:

Oh lame, I was just browsing the Japanese page and I saw this at the bottom: “All items listed in this Japanese website are for DOMESTIC SALES ONLY. We do not accept any request of purchasing items listed here from overseas customers. For inquiry of the items on our website please e-mail us”

Don’t know if that’s new or what, but it’s the first time I recall seeing it. :/

        • Tier says:

I don’t know much about the circle either; I do remember seeing a bondage-themed illustration of Yomi Isayama from them that I like, and I could recognize their style from that one picture. It would be nice if more circles would make bondage-themed dakimakura covers.

That is pretty cool of Boncool; it’s great to hear stories like that. I’m hoping they do more pillowcases of characters that I know and like, since I’m probably more inclined to order from them since they don’t require proxy ordering.

Do you order your pillowcases straight from Evening Call? Their prices are slightly cheaper than what they sell them at Toranoana and other stores, so I’m thinking that’s a better option. Plus it looks like they have a discount if you order their Horizon and Neito pillowcases together; I’m not sure if I would get both but it’s still something for me to think about.

I wonder if that Mandarake notice is for non-Japanese people who try putting in an order on their Japanese site. I imagine more than one person has tried to do that and from the way they word it, that’s what their intent sounds like.

          • Shashin says:

Yeah, it would be nice. And I have to admit, pregnancy really isn’t my thing (though I’m not against the occasional inflation), I find myself liking the pregnant versions more and more each time I look at them. I’d still probably prefer one of the vanilla covers (albeit one in bondage gear), but I wouldn’t be disappointed if I were able to secure a pregnant version.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I like moso’s art, but overall I’m unfamiliar with most of the characters they’ve chosen to do. I almost ordered the Sakuya cover, but I didn’t have the money to pay up front before preorders closed. I’ll likely buy it if they have some in stock once she’s released. I’m also probably going to pick up the Kobato mousepad; it’s incredibly cute.

Yeah, once I realized that they sold goods directly from their site I haven’t ordered through a consignment shop since. Granted I only have the two covers currently (Miku and BRS), but I’ve been checking their site for months now. They have a discount for Sena/her friend too. I don’t really care for her friend, but I had thought about either ordering two Sena covers or pooling up with everyone that wanted one, but it really wouldn’t be worth it once I factored in that I’d have to ship it out.

Hmm, that’s a good point. I know that I tried ordering through the Japanese website once, but quit about halfway through because you had to select city and such from a drop down menu and I obviously couldn’t get any further. Still, the wording could let it go either way.

The “We do not accept any request of purchasing items listed here from overseas customers. ” is the tricky part. The request portion could apply strictly to an order through their system, or it could be a broader “we won’t sell it to you, no matter what.” The part about emailing them makes the situation even muddier, so I guess there’s no way to tell for sure unless you ask.

I didn’t know there’s Vivio dakimakura but it’s not my taste since I want her not in NSFW

  4. Wieselhead says:

Nice pillow case of the big Vivio,
The white, blue uniform suits Vivio very well, I know her a bit from the silly yet entertaining Vivid manga ^^. They should make a new Nanoha adaption soon, Vivid as anime could be funny.
This is an alluring pose on both sides, that might sound perverted but her puffy labium looks really nice 😀 I like the way her fingers are placed there, quite ero but somehow cute =)

    • Tier says:

That doesn’t sound perverted at all! Well, not to me, anyway. Vivio does look great, and I really like her facial expression here.

I should read ViVid one of these days; I have the sense that it’s more lighthearted than I might normally go for but then again, some of my favorite anime shows include Angelic Layer and Kamichu!, so I might like it anyway.

      • Wieselhead says:

Yeah her facial expression is a great part of this pillow case as well, I forgot to put that in my comment 😉

At first vivid appears some quite of lame and there were a lot of unknown characters, but with every new chapter I’ve read, I began to like it. Unfortunately atm it seems to be on hold 🙁

  5. Tier says:

    >> Shashin
I have yet to develop a taste for pregnancy in anime art, though I suppose it could happen. I’ve recently been contemplating ordering a figure that has cat ears and a tail, and if I can overlook those things, anything can happen. Though I did see some Taimanin Asagi pillowcases which depicted Murasaki in a pregnant state and I really wish they hadn’t done that, because I might’ve ordered that dakimakura cover if they didn’t.

Ah, okay, I might ask Yokatta to order stuff straight from them, then. They got the Charlotte pillowcase directly from Evening Call, as I understand, so I’m guessing they would be comfortable with that.

Haha, yeah, I like Sena the best out of the Boku wa Tomodachi girls but Yozora is awesome too. It’s a great show, it’s probably my favorite of this season. I’d like to get a Sena pillowcase but there are so many that I’m not sure which one to choose. There’s one I really like listed on the Boncool site but oddly, there doesn’t seem to be an entry for overseas orders.

Yeah, I’m not sure what the correct interpretation of that disclaimer is. I don’t actually order a ton of stuff from Mandarake – I tend to wait for either really rare stuff or I wait until I have a ton of stuff that I want from one store – but maybe I’ll put together a doujinshi list from the GCS store and see if they’ll add some of the stuff I want from the Japanese site onto the international site.

    • Shashin says:

It’s definitely low on my fetish list, high above scat (but possibly below urination – go figure.) Short of the really “disgusting” things, very little annoys me. Hell, I can even come to like characters who fall into the same tired archetypes as long as they have a cute set of twintails. But yeah, I’m keeping my eye out for any of the covers. I figure they should be popping up around now if they are going to, since the sale was Saturday our time and by the time payment is sent and such, it should take a few days. Hopefully I’ll get lucky, but we’ll see.

Yeah, they didn’t have any problem at all tossing in an order; the Asuka I ordered was in stock and Kan’u was set to ship a month or two from the time I ordered. They just emailed me a week or so ago saying that the order was in, but I told them I’d like to hold out for the possibility of my IG order coming in.

I’ve yet to start watching it, but everything I’ve seen so far has led to Kobato being my favorite. I’ll have to reserve judgement personality wise, but at least aesthetically she fits into quite a few of my fetishes. I was only exaggerating slightly when I said I’d have 30 covers from the show by the time the craze died down. I have the BWstore Kobato already and the Sena on order, I’m contemplating another Sena from Boncool, I won an Argyle Kobato, I’ll probably buy Evening Call’s Sena, and Kyounetsu published an amazing rough 3P sketch: http://blog-imgs-36-origin.fc2.com/k/y/o/kyounetsu/09301.jpg

Hmm, Boncool or BWstore? If it’s the Sena I’m thinking of, BWstore has it but it’s for Taiwan distribution only; Boncool is handling the Japanese (and by extension, worldwide distribution.) Possibly a bit of oversight as far as foreigners are concerned, as BWstore’s free shipping usually leaves them the cheapest, but still not a big deal. For my Boncool order they charged me a Paypal surcharge and the 5% national tax plus shipping, but last time I had goods in my cart, both the tax and surcharge were removed. Was this the cover you were thinking on?

      http://boncool.jp/sena-dtt.html

I like Mandarake a lot. They’re great for ordering doujinshi and they get a ton of quality dakimakura covers in fairly frequently. Unfortunate that a lot of the really good ones don’t hit the English site, but I’ve still been able to pick up an acceptable number that way. I’ve managed to snag some fairly “rare” (expensive is better, I guess) covers by checking during their daily update; some Ankokoubou covers and an IG cushion that would have cost me 30000+ had I bought them from YJA. It’s great for lesser known picks, too. Some of my current favorites were picked up from Mandarake and I wasn’t even aware they existed until I saw them available and looked up their sample image.

      • Tier says:

I wonder what’s up with IG; I guess I’m not hugely stressed since I already have the twins pillowcase but on the other hand, it’s still a lot of money.

Kobato has an interesting personality, and in a good way. Actually, I really like all of the characters in the show, which is sort of rare for me. I don’t know that the show is particularly original, but it’s a ton of fun to watch.

Ah, okay, I didn’t even know Boncool ran a separate store. Yeah, that’s the one I was thinking of. I like it a lot, particularly since the style is reminiscent of Buriki’s art. I see they’re taking orders all the way up till near Christmas so I guess that gives me a lot of time to think about it. How much does shipping cost when you order from them?

I’m sorta thinking I ought to use Mandarake more often for Japan-only figures. I ordered Ivy Valentine from a proxy but Mandarake already has one up on their site. An open-box one, I suppose, but given that the figure just came out, I’m guessing it didn’t suffer through too much abuse.

  6. Shashin says:

There’s about 29 comments on the last blog post on their website. As far as I could tell from the translation, just about all were negative even before they disappeared for a few months… so I don’t know. >_> Hopefully it’s just them being characteristically late with thing, but we’ll see I guess. At the worst, I hope we’re able to secure our money back, but if it came down to that I’m not sure how likely it would be.

That’s good to hear; I’ll get around to watching it eventually but I almost always try to wait until the end of the season (or for DVDs in case of fan service shows) before I start watching since I like to set aside a block of time and watch as much as possible. Honestly, I’m fairly simple to please and while originality might be nice, as long as a show is fun to watch/enjoyable in some fashion, I’m kinder with its faults.

I actually did start watching C3 after hearing you mention it. Not really sure what to expect, but I’ve finished the second episode where things did start happening a bit. I found the episode surprisingly watchable despite nothing really happening; Fear is just too cute. I guess I do have a thing for the tsundere personality though, but I think it’s just a trait that generally goes hand in hand with small boobs and twin tails… >_> I’ll watch the rest eventually, but it kept my interest well enough and I’m curious to see where they take it.

Off topic a bit, but I think it’s funny that Boncool followed you, since I don’t think you’re following them. I followed them and they followed me a few day later. I really like that Sena a lot too, and if finances allow I definitely plan on picking it up along with the Evening Call version. My first order with Boncool was a bit strange, and they’ve definitely improved since then from I can see. I don’t recall if I mentioned it, but I was charged the 5% national tax and a surcharge as well, that added a good amount to my order. Last time I got to the end phase (without actually finalizing the order), both were removed.

Shipping was still a bit iffy, though; I originally intended on ordering the Mami, Homura, and the Touhou drunkard, but shipping came to a ridiculous 13600. When dropped down to two covers, it was a much more reasonable 2040. So what caused that, I have no idea, but needless to say I didn’t order the third cover (though I might have done a separate order but didn’t in the end.) I think they’ve fixed that problem since then, but I can’t really give you more information since I’ve only ordered from them the once. I’d recommend signing up for an account (so you won’t see the national tax), and just adding a few items to your cart and taking it to the stage where all the charges are laid out for you.

Yeah, I’ve ordered figures from Mandarake before and they’ve always come in fairly good condition. With the exception of the BRS Cannon figure; they told me it was open box, but when I got it the box was smashed in a bit. It’s kinda funny, I’ve been clearing out my figure collection a bit to make room (er money…) for dakimakura covers, and I had a Saber that I couldn’t pin down for the longest time. They all look so much alike, and even knowing that it was an Alter figure wasn’t really enough for me to figure out which it was. Finally searched my email for when I bought it, and found which version it was, but I also saw the date I purchased it and it was like a month after the figure released.

And the first crop of covers has finally appeared. I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to pull the trigger on the Rin that appeared, since it wasn’t the bondage version. After some thought I decided to go with it since there’s no guarantee the bondage version would appear and I don’t know how likely the cover was to sell out before I had the chance. And it’s the fully nude version versus her red uniform version, so I can’t complain. I’m still debating the Saber should it appear, but along with the other I’d have my eye on… I don’t think I could afford to purchase them all. There is one that is particularly interesting, and I’d 100% buy if I liked the character design a bit more; the chick is in a nice bondage gear, and if the CG pack I downloaded is accurate, she has anal beads inserted on one side and a bullet vibrator on the other.

  7. Tier says:

Gee, that’s not particularly reassuring. I’m hoping they did not require up-front payment on preorders.

Yeah, I was sort of surprised by that as well, since I had never even mentioned them on this site and I don’t know why they would follow me. I don’t do the reciprocal follow thing (nor do I do blogroll exchanges) so I didn’t follow them back, since I can’t read Japanese anyway, though I do check their timeline from time to time. I keep this website and my Twitter account somewhat separate and I think many people who read this site probably don’t know that I have a Twitter account.

That is a most curious shipping charge. I’ll go ahead and try that, then. Some part of me thinks it is absolutely ludicrous to pay nearly thirty bucks just for shipping a pillowcase, but the rest of me thinks that is completely normal.

That’s a great-looking pillowcase, albeit the subject is, uhh, somewhat young-looking. I’m not sure if I would be brave enough to try to sneak that through customs. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t actually. We’ll disregard the fact that I really like the Musumaker CGs.

  8. Shashin says:

SMJ paid for my Nymph cover already, so I would assume that payment was required up front. If the very worst case does happen and IG runs with the money, it will be interesting to see what SMJ does for my case. And I’d already like to apologize for informing you about the sale. Not that I had any idea something like this was going to happen, but I’d still feel bad if we end up not getting our orders.

Definitely thought it was a bit strange. My best guess is that they followed me and then saw that I talked with you a lot, but even that’s a stretch. I just follow circles I like and such, since Chrome has the built in translator it isn’t entirely worthless and I’ve managed to catch sales and such that weren’t otherwise published a time or two. I don’t really care about Twitter too much and just end up posting a bunch of random dakimakura related crap usually; I doubt I’m really worth following at the moment. If I ever get my site up and running though, I’ll probably link it together.

I didn’t know about your Twitter account until you posted a few pictures from it once. Then when I finally started using Twitter I thought about the people I’d want to follow… it started out with IG and you, and I’ve slowly built it up to add a bunch of different circles and dakimakura websites.

No idea what caused the calculation to become so wonky. The only thing I can think of that would increase the shipping by more than a couple bucks would be upgrading to a box from an envelope, but that would add $10-20 at most. I don’t really mind the shipping anymore… I figure if I’m going to drop 30000 yen on a pillowcase anyway, the shipping doesn’t look so ridiculous in comparison.

Haha, yeah. I love the case and don’t mind the loli, but I’m just not the biggest fan of her face. My collecting mentality is urging me to buy it, because it’s quite rare to come across a case as explicit as this. As far as customs, I hope I never find out but I’m still curious as to how ordering through a proxy would work out, in terms of liability. Not trying to tempt you or anything, but the auction is here (at a relatively reasonable price, despite the fact that Mandarake sold it for 6300): http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r83931829

And Musumaker, I think I remember seeing that before. I only browsed a few sample CG but I believe I liked them a lot.

    Back to downloading Skyrim. ^^

    • Tier says:

It’s all good, I figure you take your chances whenever you order from a Japan-only store. And I figure that they’ll make those pillowcases at some point; otherwise I imagine there will be a large number of angry Japanese customers.

Personally, I regard Twitter as something of a great big joke, and one the major reasons I use it (perhaps the major reason) is to freak people out and try to get them to unfollow me. I’ve been surprisingly unsuccessful on both counts; I think I’ve only gotten one person to purposefully unfollow me since I’ve used it and the responses to my pictures of Mothra larva sex and persistent references to maggot birthing have ranged from enthusiasm to silence. It’s a bit odd since this website is obviously almost entirely figure-centric and a great deal of the stuff I use Twitter for is doll-centric. Or at least it was back when Dollfie owners communicated with me.

As tempting as a bondage-themed dakimakura cover is, I think I cannot afford it at the moment, due to that unexpectedly expensive figure I bought a couple weeks ago. Plus I still have to order the Horizon Ariadust one, and I’m waiting for a good Inori Yuzuriha one to come out. I’m sure there’s going to be a ton of pillowcases of her and I’m waiting for the right one.

I was gonna go to the game store on Friday to pick up Fate/extra and maybe Otomedius Excellent (and maybe Forza 4). I still have to beat Oblivion (technically; I just need to pick up a suit of armor) and I’m thinking about trying out Fallout 3 next. I really want Skyrim but since I enjoyed Oblivion in large part because of mods, I’m thinking I might wait a bit for some good mods to come out (certainly a body replacement and hopefully a Dizzy mod).

Hopefully you’re right. The Nanoha cover I ordered more for collection purposes than anything, but it will be great to have another Twins cover and I’m looking forward to the Nymph a lot.

Heh, that’s fairly amusing. I still think the idea behind it is absolutely retarded, but I don’t deny that it has been somewhat helpful in the past; if only because a lot of the circles I like have taken to posting about their upcoming work/web sales.

My finances are in no way healthy, but selling off a good number of my figures has kept me afloat. It’s just unfortunate that I’ve had to part with some really good ones (Momohime, Senhime and Jubei, Black Miko Kan’u, and some that I wasn’t as fond of.) Still, I hadn’t opened any of those I mentioned (except Kan’u), so the money earned will do me more good in the long run.

I enjoyed Oblivion a lot, but I still enjoyed Morrowind more. I remember the main quest in Oblivion being fairly short and I think I remember it ending somewhat abruptly. They really did the various guild quests well, though. I’m absolutely loving Skyrim so far; it’s the same core game but with so many improvements that it’s almost a completely new experience. I can’t wait for the mods to start popping out, but I’m enjoying the game as is for the moment. I will say that they’ve improved upon the character models a lot; I know I’ve seen some people get pretty amazing results in a non-modded Oblivion by tweaking all the settings, but I never had that gift. All of my characters were ugly looking at best, and don’t get me started on what all of my female characters looked like. I’d love a Dizzy mod, though.

hm i ususally dont like vivio’s aduklt form tat much, but this dakimakrua changed my opinion quite a bit, possibly because she looks younger than the official drawings of er in sankt kaiser form, and her boobs arent as oversized as in the riginal worl (lol have you ever heard of it before? an adult girl who gets smaller boobs from doujin-artists, thats somethign to behold XD)

Maybe I should pick up Skyrim sooner rather than later, seeing as how I’ve got time off from work this holiday season and no plans to travel anywhere. I hope that it doesn’t give me motion sickness like Morrowind does. And hopefully it has more than eight or ten hotkeys; I think that was my biggest beef with Oblivion, that it had so few hotkeys. Really annoying with all the custom spells I made.

    • Shashin says:

I honestly don’t recall the Oblivion system too well. I haven’t used a single hotkey in Skyrim myself, at least in the traditional sense. The system they have in place has been working well enough for me, so I haven’t bothered to see if hotkeys are available. You basically favorite weapons/spells/armor and then can hit Q which pauses the action and allows you to select items from the list. Definitely not as seamless as hotkeys, but you won’t die because of it.

      • Tier says:

Oblivion assigned the number keys 1 through 8 to hotkeys, if I remember right. Funny how I’ve forgotten that just a couple months after putting a hundred hours into the game. I think that was a limitation that carried over from the console version of the game, since there aren’t that many buttons on a gamepad. Personally, I think it’s pretty annoying; back when I played World of Warcraft, I generally had about 40 buttons on the screen with maybe 30 of them hotkeyed.

Hey! Guys, I find my heart is caught by Vivio. Could you please tell me where I can get it?
