Hyper Nurse Victory Yuno from Keumaya Figure Review

I’ve reviewed a couple of Keumaya figures here and I think I’ve converted a few people on the interwebs into Keumaya fans. I’ve been looking forward to Hyper Nurse Victory Yuno for a while and now that she is here I am happy to spread the good word about Keumaya once more.

Hyper Nurse Victory Yuno from Keumaya Figure Review

Originally nicknamed Chou Kyonyuu-chan – or Hyper Boobs-chan – Yuno was first offered for preorder by Toranoana, I believe, last December. I don’t recall that she was available at Comiket 77, although her green-haired clone Hyper Nurse Milky Way Hotaru-chan and Hyper Nurse Commander Erica-chan were.

A couple weeks back, I noticed I got some hits from Keumaya’s Twitter page, and I was curious as to what was up with that. First, I learned that it’s really freaking annoying how Twitter abbreviates URLs (or encourages shortened URLs). Second, I found that his message amounted to a succinct complaint that I had assembled Kotone-chan incorrectly! What the hell, mang?? It’s no surprise that I put together her wrong, the instructions are scribbled in hieroglyphs and moonrunes! Do I look like I can read the Japanese?

… On second thought, don’t answer that.

Like Kotone-chan, Yuno came in a small box with a doujinshi packed separately. An instruction sheet is provided although it seemed easier to put Yuno together than Kotone-chan. As I removed her parts from the box, I noticed this problem here:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Damn. If this blemish were smaller, I could have pretended that Yuno was taking fashion pointers from Cindy Crawford, but it looked really bad, as large as it is. Scrubbing with rubbing alcohol didn’t take it off, and I wasn’t about to try a file or sandpaper. Damn. I had been anticipating Yuno for some time so this really sucked. However, I didn’t want to leave it as it was, and I’m of the opinion that when life gives you lemons, you paint that shit gold, so I knew what I had to do. Being both enthusiastic and none too bright, I whipped out my paint bottles and started mixing.

Hyper Nurse Victory Yuno from Keumaya Figure Review

Now, I have almost no artistic talent and I didn’t really know what I was doing. Nor did I have any idea how difficult this would be, but I figured it couldn’t be that tough, being that it’s not that big a mark. You know how hard it is to match a figure’s existing skin tone? Real goddamn hard, let me tell you. Just getting the colors close to a ballpark match is difficult enough, but getting the brightness matched is even harder. Too light and the figure looks like it has a skin disorder, too dark and it looks like a burn, or maybe gangrene. Also, I needed to thin the paint so that it didn’t form an obvious protruding clump, but that made the paint translucent so that the black mark was still visible.

After a ton of trial and error, I think I got something close enough for government work. I dunno. It’s not easy to notice under normal lighting conditions, which is good enough for me.

Yuno is sculpted in 1/6 scale and stands about 23 centimeters tall to the top of her head, although her futuristic bunny ears will add a couple more centimeters to her overall height, depending on how you position them. Yuno was sculpted by Vispo, and presumably she will be the last figure offered by the partnership between the two circles.

Hyper Nurse Victory Yuno Assembly Instructions

She comes with this instruction sheet, and anyone who’s put together Keumaya’s other figures won’t have too much difficulty assembling Yuno, as she has the same general leg and torso design as their other figures. Her two belts are removable, as is her chest harness. Amusingly, her harness is partially held to her body by a socket into which her right nipple plugs.

She comes with several weapons – a big handsaw which slides into her belt sheath, a small syringe gun, and another saw that slides into her right hand. I misplaced that second saw; doubtless it will turn up at some point, somewhere here, but for now I don’t have it so it doesn’t show up in the pictures. You can check out what it looks like at Keumaya’s figure page.

Hyper Nurse Victory Yuno from Keumaya Figure Review

She comes with a variety of syringes which slot into her belt and harness. The tips are sharp so it’s best to be careful when handling them.

Hyper Nurse Victory Yuno from Keumaya Figure Review

There are a lot of things I love about this figure, but her smile is my favorite aspect, I think. She’s flashing a toothy grin that is equally sly and mischievous and completely adorable. Bowties on her boots and hair accent her cuteness and provide a playful complement to her techno nurse look.

Hyper Nurse Victory Yuno from Keumaya Figure Review

Neither her charming smile nor her feminine bowties can take the edge off of her raunchiness, however. Fully clothed, everything is covered up, but just barely, being that her outfit isn’t much more than some straps. As mentioned, her harness and belts are removable, as is her thong, though I did not try to remove the latter. Her breasts appear to be hollow and are squishable, as seems appropriate for the most buxom of Keumaya’s nurse girls.

Hyper Nurse Victory Yuno from Keumaya Figure Review

Yuno’s bunny ears and eyepieces can be repositioned if you’re looking for a particular effect.

Hyper Nurse Victory Yuno from Keumaya Figure Review

The figure comes with this doujinshi, which also features Hotaru-chan. It depicts Yuno and Hotaru-chan being accosted by some faceless thugs who do what faceless thugs do in these sorts of books. It’s great stuff. Wish I could understand the words, though.

Hyper Nurse Victory Yuno from Keumaya Figure Review

And the figure comes with these pubic hair decals or stickers for Yuno, Hotaru-chan, the goat daughters, and more. I’m not planning on using them but if you like your girls bright-eyed and bushy, Keumaya’s got you covered.

Hyper Nurse Victory Yuno from Keumaya Figure Review

I think Yuno is my favorite of Keumaya’s figures. She’s both cute and sexy, sculpted in a good size, and – aside from the black line on her face – of high technical quality. I love her character design and hope that this isn’t the end of Keumaya’s figure lineup, as it’s far too good to end here.

awesome figure, the moment i saw her (hotaru chan and erica chan too) on neko magic i wanted her so badly, but never found a shop selling them, except some bootleged versions on ebay, toranoana and keumayas shop.
but google translator told me both shops dont accept international orders…

may i ask where you bought them? xD (here or mail me)

    • chief says:

apologies for my silly question, but what is bootlegged version? and what’s the difference between the product selling on Ebay and from their website?

      thank you

    • Masterchief says:

okie bootlegged is like a copy version? so i guess the quality e.g. painting, etc would be different ?

      • Ghosty says:

        Just and FYI…

I’ve bought Yuno and black goat daughter off Ebay and both look identical in colour, packaging….everything to the pics on here and on other sites.. The quality of my figures is excellent, better than most of my definitely official figures. I paid around £40 for each if that helps. I’ve no idea what they cost in japan as I’ve only ever found them on ebay.

The only difference is I didn’t get a doujinshi or pube transfers with mine, but then they never claimed to have either, so that’s fine.

I don’t know that the ebay ones are necessarily fakes. I think they maybe “fell” off the official manufacturers assembly line in China for the profit of some employees?

        • Tier says:

As I understand it, Keumaya used a Chinese factory to produce these figures and they might have just continued producing them long after the event they were created for. I don’t think that those eBay ones are fakes, at least in the case of these characters (though strictly speaking, there’s now an “official” release by BEAT; being that I own a few of BEAT’s figures, I might have gone with the eBay version instead, anyway).

    • Peter H Janak, Jr says:

He meant counterfeit.. Illegal copies. Wish.com and Ebay sell the illegal copies. The counterfeits come in a box disassembled in a square box. Also the paint on the accessories rubs off onto the body easily.

  2. Tier says:

Yeah, it’s a shame that Toranoana doesn’t ship internationally; I’d buy a lot of doujinshi from them if they did. That’s actually where I bought Yuno from; I went through a proxy service (M-World Service, in this case).

  3. phossil says:

you have a big oppai Onee-chan!!
Please take care of me 😉

  4. Shashin says:

I like this figure a lot. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for stuff from this circle in the future. As you mentioned, it is a shame that Toranoana doesn’t ship internationally. If they ever announce that they’ll start, I’m sure my credit card will be maxed out within an hour.

  5. Chag says:

Ouch, losing the saw would’ve driven me nuts. I’ve scoured my room for minor parts on models and action figures before for days on end without avail before adopting your policy of “I’ll come up eventually”…

…Well, it has been 2 weeks since lost one of my Petit Nendoroid stand bases. I sure hope this policy bears fruit soon…

Unsurprisingly, Yuno’s large breasts really highlight the voluptuous body sculpt in ways Kotone could not. So… are her breasts actually squeezable? The longer I stare at the photos (great photos, by the way!), the greater my curiosity grows.

  6. Blowfish says:

Ah! A Shitstain right next to her nose!
You have my respect for trying to fix her up by applying paint.Thats something Id never have the balls for.
Victory Yuno is on my List of Wished Figures but at the Moment I shouldnt spend all my cash on a proxy service.
This makes me wonder would it be more reasonable to order Erika and Yuno at the same time or alone?

Are proxies taking their fees from the estimated value of the item or just a general handling fee?

Im kinda shocked you didnt peek under her panties but on the other hand she should look like Kotone-chan down there so theres nothing you might have missed.

So those Pubic Hair Decals on that sheet are each for a certain character?I thought you could simply choose which degree of hairyness you would like on your figure.Makes me wonder who the owners of those big bushes might be

  7. Shashin says:

Most proxy services take a fee off the purchase price of the item or the total order of the transaction. The only way I’d see you saving any money ordering more than one item at the same time would be if you ordered from the same seller and they combined shipping/wire fees, but the commission would most likely be greater.

  8. Marcucho says:

georgeous!!!!! wooooow!!! i love this figure… but i think ill wait that her bubs will be more normal jajajaaja

excellent figure!!… photos about her puss…. where are they?? jajaj

    saludos!!

  9. Ashlotte says:

No shot demonstrating the squishyness of the breasts?!?

    I am disappoint Tier…tsk tsk.

    :p

Ah well the shots are lovely as always especially the header image~

I just wish Keumaya would do more flat chest figures…Giant breasts are fun and all, but small needs more ero love too. T_T

  10. Tier says:

    >> Shashin
I think the only thing that would slow me down from doing the same would be having to run everything through an auto-translator first.

I wonder what Keumaya will do for their next set of figures?

    >> Chag
It didn’t bother me as much here since it’s sort of an optional accessory and I’m sure I just tossed it someplace while clearing off my desk. It’d bother me a lot more if it were an important part of the figure; like with one of my Iroha figures, I’ve misplaced part of the ribbon that attaches to her back and I can’t find it, and that bothers me a lot (though as large as it is, I’m pretty sure I didn’t accidentally throw it out so I’m sure it’s also somewhere around here). If I lose that golden dong accessory that I have, though, I’m going to be really upset.

They are indeed squishy. Like an inflatable ball or something, I guess. Like one of those little stress relief balls that companies hand out at conventions and trade shows, maybe.

    >> Blowfish
Yes you should! Some things are worth the price.

I guess it’d technically be better to get them both at once to save on shipping expenses as Shashin mentions. I once put in an order with Shopping Mall Japan for some books and the commission fee was calculated per item, not from the total order price. Also, the commission fee isn’t the only thing you have to pay for, you also have to pay for any wire fees, the shipping cost from the retailer to the proxy service as well as the shipping cost from the proxy service to you, and applicable Paypal fees. Generally I’ve found that going through a proxy adds somewhere between 50% to 100% to the cost of an item.

Yeah, I’ve learned that her bottom is removable, but I like thongs and I’m not entirely certain how to pull it off. Plus I was kinda tired at the time; I probably shouldn’t do photoshoots of complicated figures on weekdays since I don’t have that much time to take pictures.

I cannot read the Japanese but the hair color suggests that the top four are for Yuno, Black Goat Daughter, Pink Goat Daughter, and Hotaru-chan. I’m not sure who the bottom six are for … maybe some of Keumaya’s older figures.

    >> Marcucho
You could look at Erica-chan, I think she has the middle-sized breasts. I’m wondering if I should get her myself.

Here’s a review of Kotone-chan that shows off the genitalia; Yuno and Kotone-chan have basically the same lower body so I presume that this is what Yuno looks like without her underpants.

    >> Ashlotte
Ha! I live to disappoint. Nah, actually, I didn’t think it was that compelling a feature since I don’t normally manhandle my figures but since you insist, here is a video by the man himself that shows it off. It feels pretty much the same as the little bulb air blower that I use to clean off my camera lenses (and figures).

Haha, yeah, they do. I think Keuma likes the boobs, though, from what I can tell. There’s actually a note under Kotone-chan’s image on his page that notes that his flat-chested figures are rare.

Drawing a QRS complex with a flashlight is harder than it appears.

  11. Shashin says:

I’ve actually decided to pick up the Milkyway Hotaru figure from them; I actually think it’s the same figure with a different color scheme. Though I’d most certainly pick this one up too, given the chance. Anyhow, they have one on Mandarake’s Japanese website, but not their English. I’ve sent an email to them to see if they’d be willing to manually add it to an order (as it’s about $40 cheaper than YHJ AND I wouldn’t have to proxy), but I’d say it’s pretty unlikely. After all, they never added it to the English site for a reason, I’m guessing.

  12. Tier says:

Hotaru-chan technically has a different headset (the “ears” are rounded rather than bunny-shaped) but apart from that, yeah, I think she’s just a different color. She, uhh, has some interesting scenes in the doujinshi, too.

Hmm, that is most peculiar. Hopefully they’ll oblige; I figure a sale’s a sale, no matter where the item is getting shipped to.

  13. Shashin says:

Well, if it were Amiami or Hobby Search, I’d understand it, as it’s an adult item. But when 99% of the items I’ve purchased from Mandarake thus far have been adult items, I don’t see why they’d pick and choose. It could be the store it’s located at doesn’t ship internationally (though other items are available from that store on the English site – maybe they don’t ship large items), or they figure there isn’t a market for certain things. I’m not sure, but hopefully they won’t have a problem with it.

It’s a bit frustrating. I’ve added items to my cart on the Japanese site, but their check out is different, requiring all sorts of other Japanese stuff, so checking out with Google Translate is out. You can add stuff to your cart on the Japanese site, switch to the English and have it show up in your cart, but as soon as you attempt to check out, it gives you an error (if the item isn’t available on the English site.)

  14. VF says:

Ouch, that blemish really sucks! Are your subsequent pics after your paint job or are the photos touched up in post processing?

Cool looking figure, like the other one you reviewed before – the amount of details is really good, but all those syringes are making me paranoid. lol

    Sweet pics as usual!

  15. Tier says:

    >> Shashin
Certainly it doesn’t seem like they have qualms about explicitness and I remember another commenter here saw Keumaya’s blue Violet figure up for sale on their English site, so they don’t have an issue with offering that circle’s figures, either. Hopefully they just made an error and they’ll be able to add it in manually on Monday or something.

    >> VF
They are after painting it over; I didn’t clone out the paint, although I did remove some dust and specks and stuff (although I didn’t get all of it, especially on her boobs).

Yeah, that’s another reason I don’t play around with squishing her breasts too much … she’s got these pokey bits that can stab or scrape you if you aren’t careful.

  16. GREW says:

I want one. But could not show her -_-
Would be sad for such a figure.

    Anyway, looks nice!
But for my conditons are too naked xD

  17. Shashin says:

Yeah, they also have Painkiller Kotone, too. IF they were going to keep any figure from the foreigners, you would think that would be the one, given the lolish look she has. But yeah, hopefully they’ll be able to work with me. Hell, on their main English site they say to email them if you’re looking for stuff and to give them a few days to look through their stock.

  18. Tier says:

    >> GREW
Yeah, that would be a shame, to leave her unassembled in her little white box. She definitely is showy XD

    >> Shashin
Yeah, that’d make more sense, although they surely don’t seem to have many qualms, just judging by the variety of doujinshi they stock. Hopefully it’s just a mistake on their part, I’ve heard that their inventory system’s a bit wacky (I’ve only ordered from them once and a couple of the items I wanted to buy weren’t actually in stock despite being listed on the website).

  19. Shashin says:

I haven’t heard back from them yet, but if I remember, there is one email they don’t really use much anymore, so I may have sent it to that email. When I’ve previously contacted them, they’ve replied within 24 hours, even on the weekend, but I’ll give them the same 3 days that they ask for orders before I bother them with an email to another address.

Their inventory system is definitely a bit strange, but I guess it can’t be helped when they’re compiling stuff from all the stores they have across Japan. I’ve also had them tell me a few items were out of stock when I placed a large order, but luckily it was never anything I absolutely had to have (well, I did make one order with two Mitsuru doujinshi and the rest was just filler to avoid the handling fee – the Mitsuru one was sold out, so I just had them cancel the order.) Another thing I thought of that it could be is that certain stores can decide what they want to ship overseas. I narrowed it down, and the Umeda store only lists one single item under the TOYS category and zero under Figures. That wouldn’t explain why some dakimakura are available from certain stores while others are not, though.

In unrelated figure browsing, I was searching eBay for this figure (only ones on eBay are bootlegs currently, but other figures from the circle are available) and I came across the Daiki Kougyou Kanu you reviewed last year. I wants it. >.> But I’m not sure if I’m willing to pay what would be close to $350 for it. Guess I’ll just have to keep my eye on YHJ/Mandarake, though I’m not too hopeful.

  20. Tier says:

Yeah, I hadn’t even thought about ordering from Mandarake until a few months ago since I’d heard that it could be a complicated process, but I was amazed at all the stuff they have (or that they list, at least). It’s definitely more complicated than just buying something from Amazon or somesuch, though. The things we do in this hobby.

Yeah, that’s a great figure … I waffled on it for a long time because of the price tag but I love it. It’s funny to look back and think about how I used to balk at dropping ~$175 on a figure … nowadays I’ll do it without thinking, for the right figure.

  21. Shashin says:

The process isn’t all too difficult, especially once you’ve ordered from them more than once. The first time I didn’t quite grasp the concept of multiple stores throughout Japan, so I ended up getting stuck with three handling charges. I didn’t want to add too much more to the order, and it didn’t even occur to me to look for all the goods at one store. Every order was about 3500-4500 yen, too.

Now that I’ve ordered from them, the process isn’t too bad. Other than their stocking system (and apparent differences between Japanese and other sites), I haven’t had any problems. If an item is out of stock, they’re willing to cancel the order, or let you add more items to an order as long as you haven’t paid yet.

I think they’re definitely one of the better sites available to us foreigners, and their prices are generally pretty cheap. I just wish they had a better selection of dakimakura available to us, as I’m sure I’d order quite a few.

I really don’t think I’m going to pay $350, as nice as it is. I know how you feel, though I really can’t talk too much as Collet was one of my first figures (well one of the first I paid for anyway), and now overloading my preorders with 5000-12000 yen figures doesn’t seem like such a big deal.

  22. Shashin says:

Still haven’t heard back from Mandarake, but I’m not too worried about it now. Excluding any preorders that have yet to come in for the month, my spending is absolutely done for awhile. I picked up Painkiller Kotone with two other figures from Mandarake last night.

And just now I found the Giga Pulse Sousou with the extra figure for less than $100. From your Giga Pulse reviews, I don’t expect the highest quality, but I have a bit of a thing for Sousou and I’ve been searching for the DX figure everyday since you told me about the Giga Pulse version. It’s currently on eBay for $285, which is absolutely ridiculous. Hell, excluding any deputy/shipping fees, I managed to get it about 2000 yen below the original retail price, so I”m pretty happy.

  23. Aka says:

I love all the gadgets and what not all over her. But damn her breasts are bigger than her head! She’s going to have major back problems if she doesn’t already. She must steal her patients pain killers just to do her rounds ’round the hospital.

  24. Tier says:

    >> Shashin
Yeah, that’ll put a dent in the checking account. I always hope for the best when I get a Giga Pulse figure but expect something not all that great, and that’s pretty much how it turns out. And $285 for a Giga Pulse figure, man, that’s crazy. Then again, I always think that a seller should set his or her price at whatever he/she thinks he can get, so if he/she can sell it at $285, more power to him/her.

    >> Aka
Haha, they are! In the doujinshi she almost fights like some sort of ninja so doubtless she has special training and calisthenics techniques to support the strain. And if those don’t work, she has the drugs, as you say.

  25. Shashin says:

Yeah, it’s pretty ridiculous. It is a pretty cool figure from what I’ve seen, but I doubt I’d pay that much for it, even if it were made by a company other than Giga Pulse. I’m just happy I was able to pick it up for a reasonable price. Though I must admit, I’d be tempted to try and sell it if SMJ fees aren’t too high.

  26. Tier says:

There was once a time where I would have said that was an utterly insane price to pay, except I’ve paid twice as much as that for a figure (a fact that still amazes me), and I just dropped $200 today on a 1/6 scale doll without really thinking too hard about it. Under $100 seems more than reasonable for something you want though, given the scarcity of these things after they hit retail.

  27. softz says:

Damn!! She really live up to the name, Hyper Boobs-chan. From the first photo, I didn’t even notice that she has such enormous breasts.

The neon light effect is definitely awesome, suits her very much. The Cindy Crawford’s blemish… man that’s disappointing. However, it’s hardly visible from the rest of the photos.

However, the overall of the figure is great. I like big boobs figure but this is way too huge for me to handle. *LoL*

  28. Shashin says:

It has been up on eBay for awhile, so I don’t think anyone will buy it. I think that $280 is high for the particular figure, but not that high overall. Okay, it is really high, but I understand the scarcity of things and would definitely pay it for a figure I absolutely had to have. I was more than wiling to wait for this figure, though, and I’m glad I did. The original retail was 11000 yen, I think, and I picked it up for 9500. It’s apparently new, so I got a good deal, considering I haven’t seen the figure up on YHJ before that.

  29. softz says:

Hey Tier, I bet your spam filter caught me again. 🙁

  30. Tier says:

    >> softz
She does! Keumaya does like his girls buxom, it seems. The syringes and stuff on her chest seem to do a good job hiding just how massively endowed she is.

Yeah, that black mark sucked. I painted over it though, that’s why it doesn’t show up in the rest of the photos XD

I wonder which of Keumaya’s nurse girls is the most popular?

    >> Shashin
That’s a pretty good deal then, particularly for something you really wanted … being able to buy something you lust after for less than the original price after its release seems to be an extremely rare occurrence in this hobby.

  31. Shashin says:

Yeah, I just wish it were so easy for everything else. I understand they want to keep some figures somewhat limited, but I wish they saw longer runs so that people who are a bit late have a better chance of catching it at a decent price.

  32. Tier says:

Yeah, that’d be pretty nice. I kinda wonder why they don’t do more second or third runs for popular figures, since it’d be like printing money, given the demand for certain figures. (On the other hand, it seems like none of the figure companies can hit their schedules, so I suppose that not doing more runs of existing figures frees up the factories to make new figures.)

  33. Fabrice says:

Definetly wont be able to show her O.o
lol what the hell is that thing on her nipple ? XD

  34. Tier says:

Those are syringe holders, I guess one never knows when one might need to inject someone with some sort of chemical.

She’s completely covered up! Sort of. I actually don’t have her showing off any naughty bits right now.

  35. Sora says:

this is my favourite keumaya figure till now ,
i really liked to assemble her ( was easier then Black Goat Daughter)
i somehow feel lucky that i didnt got the stickers
i hope that he will make more figures or
a remake of violet would be cool too
(to change her from 1/8 to 1/6 and a different more stable pose)
i am sorry for you that you got a damaged version, but you did a good paint work
and the review is great to

  36. Tier says:

I agree with that, and I also wouldn’t mind seeing Violet getting remade in a bigger size. Though I wouldn’t mind if they shrank her breasts down a little bit and gave her a better base so that she doesn’t fall down all the time. And thanks, I was really worried that she was going to be permanently defaced but I’m happy that I was able to kinda make it less obvious.

  37. Guy says:

I still have to think every time I drop about $140 on a figure 😉 It might change when I get a job, but it might not.

I like this figure. I really like this figure. I think she’s mostly the same as Kotone but has breasts and a better strap-outfit, and it seems to make all the difference in making her hot rather than awkward…

BTW, what paints did you use? And skin-tones are always hard. And yes, you do need it to be thin, and then, skin-tones on black should take 3-4 coats, but being thin enough it shouldn’t clump.

  38. Tier says:

I’m still hesitating on Alphamax’s Mai Shiranui, mainly because I can’t cancel it at either Hobby Search or Amiami and even I hesitate at dropping $200 on a figure whose manufacturer I have no familiarity with. I guess I could order it from HLJ instead … hmm, actually, they don’t list it. Oh well.

I agree about this figure, Kotone is nice, but Yuno looks awesome. I think her long hair also contributes, I like longer hair more than shorter hair, which is also the main reason I skipped Erica-chan.

I used some cheapo acrylic paints, which is all I’ve got here. I’m thinking of getting an airbrush one of these days to try putting together garage kits, but I’m lacking in both funds and space for such a thing right now.

    Just found this thread.

I bought this figure on eBay from seller concon88862. He promised me that it is 100% original/authentic. I have a feeling he lied to me now, after reading this thread.

Haven’t received it yet though. But I will study it very carefully and compare it to the pictures on this site.

  40. chino_ec says:

Also bought another similar item from eBayer kittysohappy. Probably a bootleg as well. I’ll report when I get it.

  41. Sora says:

i am planning on getting an Airbrush aswell ,
i ordered already an GK http://www.e2046.com/product.php?products_id=699
, but i think i wont get a Airbrush soon ( maybe next year )

i think i have read in this Discussion that when you are polite you can cancel your orders from Amiami :
    http://myfigurecollection.net/club/72/&page=discussions&did=385
    maybe it helps

my most expensive figure is this one http://myfigurecollection.net/figure/32095_hydorana
    i payed 400 Euros for it ( i think i was silly )
i even don’t know how it will turn out ( it is a Gk kit and gets painted and assembled )
it should arrive in 1 – 3 weeks
    i hope the best

and only that you know erica has longer hair than kotone ( and i personaly think that erica is the big sister of kotone )

It could be; there seem to be a lot of really cheap Keumaya figures up on eBay from Chinese sellers, and that screams bootleg to me. If you don’t get the doujinshi, I think that’d be evidence that it might not be authentic.

  43. Guy says:

Just use Games Workshop/Reaper/Privateer Press miniature paint, Maelstromgames (in the UK) does free international shipping for orders over 10 pounds.

I am a HUGE fan of long hair as well 🙂

  44. Tier says:

    >> Sora
Hmm, spam blocker caught your comment. Sometimes it doesn’t work all that well.

Ah yes, I think I actually have that Escalayer kit (well, the recast version). Maybe I ought to get an airbrush sooner rather than later so I can get started with trying to put these things together.

That’s good to know about Amiami then; I’ve heard that they’re very accommodating if there’s a problem with an order, and if I can cancel orders if circumstances change, I think I’m more likely to buy stuff from them.

That figure looks really, really cool; I hope it turns out great for you. That’s pretty expensive but she looks like she’ll be worth it.

She could be! Gee, now I kinda want Erica to complete the set. Hmm …

    >> Guy
I’m planning on using Tamiya acrylics if I start building models, a lot of people seem to like them and they seem to be pretty good as far as ease of application, cheapness, and toxicity goes. Plus there’s a hobby store down the street that stocks those paints. Though they don’t seem to have any bottles of flat base, so I guess I’ll have to get that elsewhere.

  45. chino_ec says:

    Hey Tier
Is the doujinshi that manga/comic? I’m assuming that an original should have EVERYTHING pictured in the pictures above, including the doujinshi.

Well, if it is then THANK GOD FOR PAYPAL!!! I’ll send in a claim and get my money back.

Like most serious collectors, I ONLY COLLECT ORIGINALS.

I’ve probably spent over $1000 on shunya yamashita figures alone.

Thanks for the heads up Tier. First on is at the post office awaiting custom clearance right now.

  46. Tier says:

Yeah, the doujinshi is the book. I think that the doujinshi is included with Yuno, although it’s possible that it might’ve gotten misplaced or left out somewhere along the line. You can also check whether the figure comes in a little white box with black graphics printed on it. Also, the price itself might indicate whether it’s real; if I remember correctly, Yuno was sold for around 7800 yen, which I think converts to about $85. Anything significantly cheaper than that would be concerning, I think.

  47. Mmiayiuckoi says:

I have both Hotaru and Erica but I’m curious…How do I use the decals if the panties don’t come off???

  48. Sora says:

You can cut off her thong with a knife ,
but you must be very careful and you will have to clean it
it works, I’ve tried it myself
but i dont know how to use the decals (do not have them)

  49. Tier says:

A good question … as Sora says, you could just cut them off, I’m not sure if there is a way to detach them without damaging them. I don’t have the instruction sheet with me here but it might also have some insight as to whether that’s possible.

  50. Mmiayiuckoi says:

Hmm…interesting cause I’ve always thought the thong and the body was one solid piece. Either that or it’s just put on super tightly.

  51. Sora says:

i have uploaded some pictures here:
    http://www.file-upload.net/download-2597345/keumaya-yuno–erica-thong-remove.zip.html
    i hope it helps
sorry for the bad pics ,made them with my mobilephone

  52. Mmiayiuckoi says:

Cool, thanks Sora…In that instruction sheet, I thought that maybe it was supposed to disconnect on the thong itself or that it was on a specific figure…Also, I have the same problem as you do on the Jacket. No matter how hard I tried, I can’t put the Jacket on Erica 🙁 It seems Erica wasn’t made properly?

  53. Mmiayiuckoi says:

Update – O.K. I tried it, it IS only lightly glued under the…Lock. and absolutely doesn’t need to be cut with any sort of blade. In fact, it also snaps back on quite nicely without glue and it looks as if it was never…unlocked. The Jacket however, is still a problem.

  54. Tier says:

Thanks for the update, that is reassuring to know. I don’t have Erica so I don’t know how the jacket fits on her; I recall it was a bit tight on Kotone but I don’t know if Kotone’s slightly different upper body makes it easier to put it on her or not.

  55. Sora says:

    ok , doesn’t matter
mine was a test subject (glued them together again)
    at least i could help
i tried it with force ,but the only thing that happend was that the figure got black and i had to clean it again
maybe you have to heat the jacket with a hair dryer ( i won’t try it)

  56. Mmiayiuckoi says:

Another update if interested – Just came back from a Wal-Mart an bought a hair dryer! It worked very well. It made the jacket very soft and flexible with a few seconds of hot air. You can easily overlap one side to the other. Might not be a tight fit, but it’ll stay stiff over the arm.

A few pictures just in case. My phone camera sucks o_o.
    http://www.mediafire.com/?lr2yhjirgot

  57. Sora says:

thank you for the tipp Mmiayiuckoi
    i will try it tomorrow
i wasn’t shure if the color would be resistent to the heat

  58. Mmiayiuckoi says:

Should be fine as long as it’s a good distance away and not too close.

  59. chino_ec says:

    Hey Guys,
Finally got the figure from the eBay seller. Quality looks pretty good, but one question to know if it is real or just a really good copy: the armored looking leather strap panties, is it removable? I mean, can you take if off and see goodies? Looks like it isn’t attached in some pics.

  60. Mmiayiuckoi says:

Eh he…we were just talking about that a few posts above. The Lock panties/thong or whatever you want to call it is indeed removable. It’s glued on the bottom side of the lock. I took a piece of cloth and held it along the bottom and kinda pulled it up and out. Depending on how much glue is there is how hard you gotta pull. Shouldn’t be too hard…unless it really is bootleg. Good luck!

  61. dryden says:

    heyho!

i bought the figure from the ebay seller “gattaihobby” for 135 $. hes selling from japan, tokyo, the doujinshi was included and the pants were removable too. only the decals were missing ;/ though, it looks authentic for me, what would you say?

atm hes selling some again, if someones interrested

    http://shop.ebay.de/gattaihobby/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

  62. Tier says:

I think the decals were only included with later production runs; I didn’t see the decals on Keuma’s blog until around March, I think, and by that time she’d already been sold at Wonder Festival and by Toranoana last December.

I think it’s reasonable to assume that figure is authentic; I sort of assume anything sold in Japan for a realistic price is real. It comes to mind that I once bought a figure from Tokyo Hunter and the e-mail address he used had “gattaihobby” as the handle, although I’m not sure if there’s an association between them or not.

  63. chino_ec says:

Wow!!! The pantie straps ARE movable!!! I thought they were just molded on. I THINK ITS AUTHENTIC!!! Thanks to eBay seller concon88862.

Let me explain. I spoke to a connection in Japan. The Figures are made in China. The book is printed in Japan. The manufacturers in China decided to continue manufacturing more figures despite the Japanese company’s plan to stop production.

That’s why the HK sellers only sell these figures without the doujinshi

From the looks of it, the Chinese factory kept the quality production high. I studied the details in the above picture VERY carefully and compared it to the one I have.

If it is a fake, DAMN GOOD JOB!!!

  64. Tier says:

Ah, that makes sense … I knew they were made in China, since it says so right on the base, but I wasn’t sure if the figures sold by HK sellers were all from one factory or were recast by bootleggers. I figure a doujin circle might not have the funds to do a massive production run at a factory so I wonder if Keumaya lets them keep production going in exchange for making the figures.

  65. otaku says:

It’s my firs time on this website. I like the figure, she looks so evil 🙂

  66. Tier says:

Thanks for visiting, and she does XD Or sneaky and sly.

  67. EnZo1 says:

Yo I just got her on eBay for $57.00 and it’s 100% legit 🙂

Great photos.Just got a hyper nurse Yuno figure.I used to build Tamiya military model kits when I was young, never seen anything like this!!This figure is beyond cool!!

    • Tier says:

Congrats! It’s a great figure. I used to enjoy building model aircraft kits as a kid but I was always terrible at it. I’d like to get into building anime figure kits but I keep putting off getting an airbrush and compressor set.

      • Robertswag says:

My father had one,a Badger,I could never get the hang of it.I prefer the old fashion paint brush method.Of course that won’t work in a lot of instances.Like when the entire bottom of an aircraft needs to be one color. The owner of our local hobby shop gave me an old Tamiya catalog, the work they can do with an airbrush is amazing!Could I upload you guys some pics?

        • Tier says:

I don’t have any available webspace but you can always upload it to Flickr or a similar image host. A few years back, I’d recommend uploading it to a free webspace provider but I don’t actually know if anybody provides that anymore.

  75. Robertswag says:

That’s cool.Don’t Know how interested in tank models anyone would be.My son stopped by yesterday,we used to watch Dragonball Z and Inuyasha together,he took pics of Yuno to show his friends in college.Him and his mom both think I’m insane!

    • Tier says:

Hahaha, that is awesome XD They may not be without justification in their opinion! But Hyper Nurse Yuno is worth a few questionable looks, for sure.

      • Robertswag says:

I agree! How could I get a copy of the book? Were they sold only with the figures?Mine also didn’t have decals, but 55.00 with free shipping is hard to beat!

        • Tier says:

Yeah, I think they only came with the figures; I’m not sure if they were ever sold separately, though I think I saw an omnibus volume of all the doujinshi Keumaya bundled with his figures on his website. If you look around on the web, though, it’s not difficult to find a scan.

          • Robertswag says:

I guess the ones like I got are in a way bootlegs, but still cool.E-Bay has a lot of new figures on this morning.Several talk, that’s kinda radical.Would be neat if you could program them to say anything! There is a neat Kotone, she has what looks like a syringe mini-gun,they want 350.00 and it’s not going to be available till next month!Thats a lotta greenbacks.

          • Tier says:

I’m guessing that’s the Hobby Japan one; Keumaya’s figures are popular enough that one is getting released by a mainstream manufacturer. Semi-mainstream, anyway; their figures are only available by mail order in Japan but they usually aren’t too hard to find on eBay or Yahoo Japan Auctions. $350 sounds like way too much for it, though; $150ish is what proxy services like Tokyo Hunter charged for preordering it, so I’d guess it’d sell for around that on auction sites.

  76. Berwin says:

I recently got the green version of this. Soon after receiving it, i found out it was supposed to come with a doujin… dammit. Anyone know where i can read it online? 😛

    • Tier says:

Hi! If you are talking about removing her panties, I think you can pull them off with a little bit of effort. They are glued under the lock part, so you just have to pull and separate those parts.

Long time coming but. .I purchased Yuno as a bootleg version on eBay for $35 and there is virtually NO difference between the authentic one.
I expected rough paint, loose parts or missing arms and legs :p even her cute smile, eyes and squishy tits are perfect.
Oh, and I DID remove her chastity belt…Expecting to see a smooth feature-less area…man, was I delighted instead to find a sculpted, even color-tinted perfect pussy 🙂
Sounds biased but just being honest. Those Chinese got +9000 respect points from me.

  81. Monkey marmalade. says:

Hey. I have just been given a Green Hair Victory Yuno from my Girlfriend.
She did have some mold lines on her boobs but they were easy enough to cleanly sand away.
The only issue I have is with her pants. They were glued just bellow the lock but quite a lot of glue was on her pubic bone/lower tummy area. I have tried to clean it away as best I can but there is still a bit of a mess. Superglue remover is pretty harsh and though I did try it it seemed to remove paint as well.
So my question is: What would be the best way to clean up this area? Sanding seems extreme for the hard plastic. It only worked on the boobs as they are rubber. Or am I looking at needing someone to airbrush her tummy?

Oh and a little tip for anyone getting a lot of black marks from putting the belts on. If you get some isopropyl alcohol and rub the inside of the belts with a small cloth or cotton but/q-tip, it really helps to prevent the paint transfer.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • Tier says:

Honestly, I have no idea; the strongest chemical that I typically use for figure maintenance is alcohol. I bet you can Google for an answer, though; there must be some model and miniature builders out there who have needed to clean up excess glue and adhesives.

  82. Steve says:

i need some help i hope that someone or maybe the website owner, moderator can help me out , i’m looking to start my own collection of these type of figures (specifically like this one and ones in the same set) and i cant seem to find a consistent name for them or a place were they sell reputably

    • Tier says:

This figure and the others in the series were doujin figures (created by enthusiasts rather than manufactured by a company). However, a company called BEAT manufactured mass-market versions of these figures; in fact, one of their Hyper Commander Erika-chan figures randomly showed up in Amiami’s bargain bin section recently. Some of the other figures can be found at Mandarake, which is usually the best place to look for older, second-hand figures.
