Preorder Outlook XLVIII

Welcome to the bunny girl edition of the semi-regular preorder outlook. I keep saying that I don’t particularly care for bunnysuits but I continue to order FREEing’s figures (actually, it’s more the gigantic size that I’m partial to – I probably wouldn’t care for them if they were 1/8 scale), and they’re certainly well-represented here; not a good thing at all for my wallet given how spendy they are, but that’s always been something that figure collectors need to adjust to.

November 2016

Scathach from Fate/Grand Order
The first figure of Scathach comes from Plum. I’m sure it won’t be the only figure of this character, given her pleasing design and the cachet that the Fate franchise brings, but being first in the game means that there aren’t any options to consider if one wants a Scathach figure. This appears to be a good figure on its own merits, though; nice sculpt, prominent breasts, winning smile, and if it really is 1/7 scale, it will fit in well with Good Smile Company’s Fate/stay night lineup.

January 2017

Angela Balzac from Expelled from Paradise
1/4 scale really isn’t ideal for this sort of pose, especially if one has multiple figures of this sort; displaying them all together kinda makes them look like they’re laying around waiting for medical treatment or something. But that ass really cannot be refused.

Tsukiumi from Sekirei
I have to admit that I don’t know anything about Sekirei, and I don’t really know anything about the character, but this is a good-looking figure regardless. Orchid Seed generally does swimsuit figures pretty well, too. I don’t know how strong the resemblance is to the character – I thought Tsukiumi’s hair was a brighter blonde – but given that I sometimes wish that figure makers would be more liberal with artistic license, I suppose that’s not a big deal.

February 2017

Chie from Shoujo no Toge
Buying any ero figure from SkyTube doesn’t really need any explanation, particularly when it’s based off of Hisasi’s artwork.

Manaka Koumaki from To Heart 2
There are two figures from To Heart listed here, both wearing bikinis. 1/5 scale is an uncommon size, but it will serve to differentiate this figure from the multitudes of swimsuit figures out there (if Manaka were 1/8 scale, I don’t think this figure would be very interesting). That this figure features a sexy pose, a friendly expression, and apparent cameltoe all add to this figure’s appeal.

Momo Velia Deviluke from To Love-Ru
Momo was the first of what will undoubtedly be many 1/4 scale figures of the To Love-Ru girls wearing bunnysuits. She’s not my favorite character from the show by looks, but she might be my favorite from personality, and it’s hard to turn down a figure of the architect of the harem plan, particularly when she looks this cute.

Tamaki Kousaka from To Heart 2 Dungeon Travelers
When you collect figures for a while, you see some odd coincidences, like the two Kongo figures that went up for preorder at around the same time that looked very similar to each other (though the Max Factory version was far superior to the other). In this case, it’s that two figures posed playing with their nipples went up for preorder on the same day (the other, of course, being the aforementioned Chie). Aside from that bit of salaciousness, this is a nice version of a character who certainly has no shortage of figures; the sex appeal is very high, and I’ve always been a fan of bikini armor, which makes this a certain preorder, even though I don’t particularly need another Tamaki figure.

Yukino Yukinoshita from My Teen Romance Comedy SNAFU 2
This isn’t the sort of figure that I usually buy, or even pay much attention to, but for some reason I like this one a lot. Perhaps it’s the contrast between her bare legs and her kimono, which I think is very attractive. Or maybe it’s that she looks a bit like Kotobuikiya’s Yui Takamura figure, which is a figure that I like quite a bit. I’m on the fence about buying this one, being that this already looks like an expensive month, but we’ll see.

March 2017

Irisdina Bernard from Schwarzesmarken
A figure of a sexy blonde girl in a skimpy costume posed face-down ass-up is difficult to resist. In the interest of not spoiling anything, I’ll have to leave aside my feelings for Schwarzesmarken, which is not actually an easy thing to do.

Golden Darkness from To Love-Ru
And here’s another sexy – well, for those who like their anime girls younger, anyway – blonde girl in a skimpy costume, though upright on her knees rather than crouched doggy style. I like her unamused expression; it’s quite a bit different from the inviting smiles most of the figures in FREEing’s bunny line are sporting. I’m a little hesitant to buy this figure or Momo, though, just because I know that if I do, I’m going to feel compelled to buy the other To Love-Ru figures that will undoubtedly be coming.

April 2017

Akane Ryuuzouji from Walkure Romanze
I’m happy to see Daiki Kougyou make a figure of Akane, who is either my first or second favorite character in the series. Hopefully she’s closer in size to Celia and Bertille and not to Mio (who was sculpted by a different person than the other two and is noticeably smaller).

Ciel Alencon from God Eater 2 Rage Burst
Being unfamiliar with the God Eater franchise – as I don’t yet have a PlayStation 4 or Vita, and the anime looked sorta terrible – I don’t know much about Ciel. I don’t know that I’m particularly liking her neutral, almost robotic facial expression here. On the other hand, she’s got a good pose that shows off her ass and her gigantic rack (I did glance through some of the character pages of the God Eater wiki while reviewing earlier figures of Alisa, and I really did not think Ciel’s tits were supposed to be this large).

May 2017

Alisa Illinichina Amiella
I don’t have the same qualms about Alisa; I like her happy, friendly smile. I can’t help but think they should have found a way to modify her suit to show some underboob, being that’s her calling card, but this is nice, too.

    Thanks for the post!

Skathac, Yukino and maybe Chie are my favorites of these figures; I especially like Skathac’s body suit and pose. Though Golden Darkness has a nice shine on her top which is attractive.

Both Tamako and Makato’s eyes are a bit too big – they make them look a little too cartoony

I think that’s an old-schoolish stylistic trait from To Heart; the eyes look a little large to me too but I started getting interested in anime in the early 90s, so it kinda brings back some fond memories.

It’s funny that we seem to think about creating a preorder post around the same time, you are nevertheless always a few hours ahead, although I totally forced myself to get done XD
I actually like that your list is completely different from mine here. Haha so many bunnysuits.

Scathach looks quite nice and I like her purple dress a lot, the tilted backwardly head bugs me a little unfortunately.

Lying Angela is incredibly nice and this gorgeous butt, I’ve seen it rather often yet, but everytime I’m captivated by it again (´∀`)

I was simply shocked to see Tsukiumi from Sekirei turned into this, she is supposed to be chubby in an attractive sense. I feel like she is another character 🙁

Ah one can never have enough Tamaki, her unfading popularity is a mistery to me.
Maybe the game(s) portrayed her as perfect waifu or so haha. I feel like I’m slowly losing interest in Orchid Seed figures, which is a bit unfortunate, the figures announced 5 years ago might come anytime soon ^^

Lol Schwarzesmarken was a bit too hardcore for me, such upsetting events in the anime *cries*
but yeah Irisdina has a lovely lewd pose befitting for a bunny girl, searching for her contact lenses or so…

I always like to see figures of Akane, she is always so pretty, although I haven’t ordered a figure of her yet.

I’m sure you’re better about answering comments than I am, though. I guess Alisa is sold out already and I’m not sure if I want to order the To Love-Ru bunnysuit girls, though I guess I might change my mind if they ever do a Mikan figure.

I didn’t watch Schwarzesmarken but I have some familiarity with how it went, and one aspect of the ending (and I know you know what I’m talking about) was dumb beyond belief. It kinda makes it hard to want any figures from that series but Irisdina looks too nice to pass up.

It’s kinda funny how most of the figures of Akane kinda look the same; I tend to get the manufacturers all mixed up when I go looking around for them.

Hahaha, I already started to wonder, but good that you replied to my comments in the end.

Well I try, but sometimes I also let nearly 2 weeks pass to reply :p

Schwarzesmarken really failed with it’s kind of ending, so unnecessary and there apparently was more time to solve this in a better way. Anyway the figure looks very nice 😀

Oh yeah, all are somehow similar, still I really like her look.

I have nothing on pre-order now – I haven’t had for a while but I am tempted by Kotobukiya’s Velvet Crowe… she’s pricey and the exchange rate has moved considerably the wrong way but she looks interesting… know nothing about the character though.

    • Tier says:

I was thinking that I’d start preordering less, and I guess I have, mostly out of inattentiveness; I just realized a minute ago that the one SkyTube figure of the police girl tied up with a spreader bar isn’t on my preorder list at either Hobby Search or Amiami, and I’m wondering how I completely forgot to order her …
