Shunya Yamashita is one of my favorite Japanese artists, and Rosanna was a figure I long anticipated. Built in 1/7 scale from Movic, I picked her up a couple of years ago.

Three things strike me about this figure: her sideways glance, the orthogonality of her arms, and the jaunty tilt of her body. Well, all that and also her near-nakedness, which I suppose makes four things. She sports a low-rise C-string and flare-cut hold-ups, and she is somewhat more realistically proportioned than most of my figures; whereas many of my anime figures have heads the size of their torso (or larger), Rosanna’s head is about the size of merely one of her breasts.

There are some technical flaws, such as the flatness of her hair on the back of her head as well as conspicuous seam lines, but in my view her steez minimizes such criticisms. For a long time Rosanna was my favorite figure, and though she’s since been succeeded in that position, she still takes pride of place on my shelf.

Its always nice to see Shunya Yamashita afficiandos ^^
To bad we have to live with second rate manufacturers most of the time.

Yeah, I think it’s kinda strange how multiple manufacturers make figures based off his art. I’d love to see Alter design one (or more), or maybe even Megahouse; they seem to do a good job with the more ecchi Queen’s Blade figures.

Wonderful gal! And a Yamahita one too! Will definitely keep a look out for this figure in the second hand market! Shame about those trouser thingies covering her legs though. :^)
