Sometimes I see a figure so unique that I buy it regardless of my misgivings. Nora Stuart is such a figure.
Built in 1/8 scale, Nora is my second figure from Giga Pulse. I bought a figure of Mikoto Shiratori from the tentacle rape anime Inyouchu a few years ago. It wasn’t as cool as I had hoped it would be, but I already knew that was going to be the case before I clicked the order button. So how did Nora turn out?
She came ensconced in a wadding of bubble wrap rather than an oversized plastic clamshell container like virtually all other figures. The first problem was with her hair, which had snapped off of her head. A little superglue fixed that issue and then she was ready for display. She comes with a boring aquamarine base that I’ve already scuffed up. Her paint is better than on my first Giga Pulse figure, although it is certainly not on the same level as one of the major figure makers.
You know, I don’t think I need to write further about the technical details. You don’t buy a figure like this for superior craftsmanship, you buy it because it’s raunchy as hell. Was it worth the money I paid for it? Not a chance. But hey, how many figures are there of a cute girl schlicking herself? I guess I’d say I’m happy with my purchase, but if I got a chance to go back in time, I probably would pass her over.
(Incidentally, her appearance seems to have been modelled after a Gundam character named Lacus Clyne. As I know nothing about Gundam, other people can make the determination as to whether Giga Pulse got it right or not.)

Yeah, I actually had a problem ordering this figure. The first place I ordered it from didn’t actually have her in stock but they charged my credit card anyway (I’m not actually sure they were a legit store). I got my card company to go after them and I got my money back relatively quickly. I then ordered her from Toylet and that transaction went smoothly, although the shipping cost was crazy.

It was! Funny that you know that. They refunded my money pretty quickly after I asked my bank to do a chargeback.

She’s long out of print but she shows up on Yahoo Japan every now and then. She usually goes for crazy prices, though. Who knew a Giga Pulse figure of relatively low quality would get such a markup?

found some sellers now with prices that are still in my pain barrier, but they only have pics of the package

I have the type A version. I think the main difference is one figure has her using her fingers and the other has her using a vibrator? It’s been a long time since I’ve looked up pictures of Nora, and seeing this post now makes me really think I ought to re-do these pictures someday.
