Every now and then, a particular artist seems to capture the fancy of figure makers for no particular reason. Which is not to say that those artists are undeserving of figures – most of them are. It’s just that, even after having collected figures for over twenty years, I’ve not found any particular rhyme or reason as to what makes one artist’s illustrations so much more appealing than another’s when this happens. Regardless, figures of rurudo’s original character Eve are wildly popular, and this particular figure – dubbed the Body Harness version – is proof of that: her aftermarket prices are ridiculous, and she’s popular enough that she’s getting a new edition, with a slightly modified face. The figure we’re looking at here, however, is the OG.
To figure collectors, Eve is likely the most familiar of rurudo’s creations, but she probably isn’t the most famous of all her characters – that would probably be Towa Tokoyami of Hololive. Nonetheless, of all of her works, Eve is the one that’s gotten the most run. She appears to be a demon girl or succubus of some sort – though from what I’ve seen of the world she inhabits, she seems to do nothing that could be considered demonic or supernatural.
In anime art, this type of character typically adheres to one of two conventions: tall, mature, and busty, or petite and younger-looking. Eve clearly belongs to the second category, and in more ways than either her evident age or her slight frame. These characters commonly feature twintails in exotic colors, with purple, pink, green, and white being very common. Eve’s no exception, and the fact that she looks so representative of the archetype is more reason to wonder why she has so many figures.
That is not to say she doesn’t look great, though; I like her a lot, and the fact that I have at least three more of her waiting to be photographed testifies to that fact. She’s got a very appealing design, her figures tend to be lewd, and there’s a very heavy focus on fanservice endemic to rurudo’s style. That Eve has gotten so many figures in such a short time is, in my mind, a big positive.
This version of Eve is manufactured by Pink Charm and was released in June 2024. She stands about 26 centimeters in height.
A couple of notes about her construction: her limbs detach, and they re-attach with a very positive snap. I’ve not ever seen – or heard – that with other figures, and it was a nice thing to experience, as I despise sloppy figure disassembly construction. Also, the spikes on her wings are really freaking sharp. I’ve mentioned that I’ve collected figures for over twenty years; I think I have over a thousand figures in my collection. I think Eve is the first figure that’s ever injured me.
One of the things that makes rurudo’s designs distinctive is the way she draws the faces of her characters, and the figures adapted from her work generally do a good job presenting that aspect. Her designs typically have broad faces with widely-spaced eyes featuring a sharply-sloped upper lid. Her character almost invariably feature inscrutable expressions, perhaps conveying apathy, disdain, boredom, or something else.
From what I can tell, many of rurudo’s figures feature explicit nudity, and this version of Eve does so as well. Without her top and panties, it’s easy to tell why this version is named the Body Harness version; she’s wearing a collar with some white straps that frame her small breasts.
Harnesses typically are associated with bondage outfits, and Eve is wearing a collar and chain to emphasize this element. That said, while rurudo’s designs often feature hints of bondage, with her characters often depicted as collared and restrained by handcuffs, it’s not a major part of the overall design. The bondage elements tend to accent the design rather than, well, dominate it.
Lewdness is a major part of rurudo’s work, and that’s clearly the case here – this figure is fully explicit. Well, mostly – she doesn’t seem to have a realistically-sculpted anus – but it’s close enough. I don’t know that I’d say that this figure embodies tasteful nudity, given the theme and evident youth of the character, but I feel like this level of lewdness still has mainstream figure collector appeal; I think people who don’t typically shop for lewd figures might still be interested in adding Eve to their collections.
I certainly shop for lewd figures – that was the original premise for this site, back in 2008 – so that aspect of her design certainly appeals to me. This is a fantastic figure with superb shelf presence. This isn’t the first figure I have of a petite demon girl with purple twintails in my collection, but somehow she really catches the eye in ways a lot of figures don’t. As anyone who’s followed this site for a while may know – and given my long absence I’d be a little surprised if many such readers are still around – my preferences for anime waifus tends towards the bustier side but for Eve, I’m happy to make an exception.

It’s great to see you posting again buddy.
