Site slowness

This site has been very, very slow recently, with some extended downtime, and I don’t know what’s causing the problem. My webhost’s support staff suggested that the poor performance might be caused by my site’s theme, so if this issue persists, I might revert back to the default theme for a few days to see if that clears things up.
